Well, since Wielder was talking about her new pup, I thought I'd show off
"my love" AKA Nikita. This is my baby girl, she's a super sweet heart, and she's a rottie
mix who is SUCH the momma's girl! And yes this is a site I often wake up to.

She is two years old this past Valentine's day (It's what we estimate her birthday to be, anyway. The vet I took her to said she was way too young to be away from her mother and we estimated her birthday to be V-day.)
I'm not 100% sure about her breed. The rottie is fairly apparent. Her tail curls as if part husky though but she doesn't have floof to it. I was TOLD when I got her that she aws 3/4 g shep and 1/4 husky. I think the person I got her from had no idea what breed of dogs they had. Ended up with her because a friend picked her out on craigslist (though I found her first and showed him) and he wanted a guard dog and figured the darker of the two pups (sister looked VERY g shep!) but figured she was too small... But she is the BIGGEST sweet heart ever. She's about 55 pounds now.
And here, cause I like promoting my dog's cuteness... she abuses it.

She is the embodiment of cute itself. She's quirky, and sweet... The shiba is what the vet dubbed her as, though I've never heard of kelpie....

But after looking at one it's like... a bigger version of Niki! Same ears/fur pattern/tail! The only difference really is that she weighs more than the average... probably cause she's mixed. Quite possible that's what she is. Didn't trust the people we got her from. Craigslist and all, plus she was stuffed down on the floor with her sister on the passenger side with an adult male sitting there too >.> People didn't seem smart at all. Plus she had fur missing from her right front paw when we first got her, like it got caught under something and got ripped out.
Damnit. Now I'm in love with this breed looking at pictures of them. I've always adored Niki, now it's like... there's an entire breed of clones to love! Sadly they're apparently not realized as an actual breed in the US. Still... ughhhh now I want more and I already have 3 dogs haha!

:/ I really hate irresponsible pet owners and I'm so relieved that she's with you now. As for the Kelpie, lol I know right? They're so darling! Niki looked familiar, I couldn't place my finger on it until I remembered the kelpie breed. I only met one before and she was fairly small, but looked identical to Niki. Even the same goofy expression :P
and man I know how you feel. There are a fair number of dog breeds I'm so in love with and I really wish I could own. But my financial situation does not allow for that possibility anytime soon T_T. Originally, I was supposed to get my german shepherd pup at the start of this year but everything sorta blew up and life said nope lol.

Luna, a purebred husky (papers and all that, she was our first dog) and Kira (thinking Coyote mutt. She sounds like one and has the colorations/build/etc. Only thing she is missing is size/fur length)
And I hear ya. Niki was terrified of car rides when we first got her. I had to pet her when we drove up to FWA (our in-laws live close so we love the dogs with them) and she shook the entire car ride. She's settled down with cars but she would just hide in the back seat on the floor.
She's like... my best friend though, and really is "my love." We adore the other two dogs but we'll both admit that Niki is our favorite and when she passes it'll tear us up more than the other two would. If we had to cut down to one dog it'd be Niki without a second thought.
And now hubby is debating getting a blood test for her since apparently kelpies are a "rare breed" in the US... *reading too much now*
