The second piece I comissioned at FC'13, same artist.
Lots of artists want to curl her tail back into the picture, without realizing that her tail is her counterbalance- if she pulls it in, she's going to fall flat on her face. It also means her wings have to give plenty of lift over her tail, since it's so heavy. This pic gives a good view of the straps that hold the tail armor (used to counterbalance the brestplate, the same way the tail iself counterbalances the torso, head and arms) through tthe wings, piercing the wing in the low tension areas behind each spur. (the brestplate "armpit" strap could be a litle closer, though)
