I survived, however. Usually when a bad storm occurs, we tuck away into a cove on the lake and ride out the storm. I knew something bad was rolling in when I saw my family *leave* the beach. That...That is risky business, and would only occur in the presence of the worst weather.

I remember many other people on the lake had similar ideas, and the waterspout actually began to form when a boat's spray began acting in a way contrary to gravity. I had to drive within a few feet of that bastard to get to the mainland, but I honestly wasn't too concerned. I had a life jacket, and was surrounded by lake. If it grabbed me and threw me anywhere, chances were I would land in the lake with a comfy floatation device. :>

After this encounter I went to a band party I had previously planned on skipping, but due to the weather's terrible turn I made an appearance. I recounted my bravery to all who would listen, which were very few in number, but I was not concerned...The party had delicious foods and desserts!
