When Kwaku Bbwaddene was traded from the Montana Howlers to the Tennessee Moonshiners, it wasn't long before an ugly, one-sided war of words began. After avoiding the press briefly, former teammate Shane Rufus's infamous explosion after the Howlereen game, calling Kwaku a "selfish prick" and a "diva", among other things that had to be cut from the FSPN broadcast, suddenly thrust this brand new rivalry into the spotlight.
For those who knew them, that incident came as quite the shock.
Prior to Blanka's trade, it was rare to find him or Fang without the other nearby, on or off the court. The Xmas Twins (one red wolf, one green) were one of the closest friendships in the league, frequently found out clubbing together or passed out in front of the bars the morning after. During Fang's scandal stemming from an assault charge after an ugly bar fight, Kwaku was his most vocal supporter and many believe he was a major factor in damming the flood. Kwaku's perennial appearance in the FBA dunk contest was always joined by Fang, the pair of them giving the crowd a show, such as dragging the big green wolf out in a cage or in chains a la King Kong. The two were brothers in all but bloodline.
The summer between the 2011 and 2012 seasons were rife with rumors of a possible trade, all of which publicly were brushed off by Mr Rufus, although Kwaku could rarely be reached for comment. When the trade was announced, there were whispers that there had been an ugly falling out behind the scenes between the two, whispers which only grew louder after Fang's public slurs toward his prior teammate. There were even concerns prior to the first Montana/Tennessee game that a physical fight may break out, which fortunately did not occur.
We may never know the details of what happened, but one thing is for sure: 2012 saw more than just a simple trade from one team to another, it saw an end to a friendship that most had considered unbreakable.

Everything that is broken can be fixed. All it takes is a little time and effort.
Obviously Shane was angry, but maybe not at Kwaku. Maybe he was angry at the owners for trading away his best friend, but unfortunately Kwaku was the one who received the outburst. People rarely think about who they hurt when angry.
