I have two pet cockatiels. This is not conducive with sleeping in. Arlow (the male bird) often enjoys the finer things in life, such as the Sun being up, and being a bird. Jewel (the female bird) is frightened of a lot of things; one of them being a happily chirping Arlow. To help alleviate this fright, Jewel screams wildly to the world at large. Arlow hears this, and chirps even louder in early-morning ecstasy. This creates a positive feedback loop of bird noises which only ends when the pair get hungry enough to forget why they started chirping in the first place.

This is one of the two options my birds take each morning in an attempt to wake me up. The next option will follow this one shortly.
