Me, upon seeing the shoddy houseboat my dad was given: Sooo...How long 'til she's sea-worthy?
Dad: About 3 years.
Me: 3 years!?! I could build an artificial island by then!
Dad: No you won't. You say you will, but it'll fall by the wayside, just like all your other projects.

Remember, America does not torture people. America "Enhanced interrogates" people. Similarly, I do not steal, I "Enhanced recycled" those milk crates.
My friend, who drank soda like he's a bleeding hemophiliac and needed it to replace his blood, donate the bottles. Within the first year, I had all I needed to build said island.
However, due to moving houses, I lost all the 2-liter bottles (Milk crates made handy storage units for the move though!). Worse still (Actually better, but worse for me), my friend stopped drinking soda, so it was a slow recollection process.
When the island was finally built, it was much smaller than planned due to the number of 2-liters I did not have, and had to be hastily constructed because a surprise summer thunderstorm rolled in from the West. However, with nine 2-liters per milk crate, the whole thing was *very* buoyant!
Not pictured: Lightning striking across the lake, the other draguh from the first comic atop the island with me, friends laughing at me from shore (Friendly taunts!), and the weak-stupid zip-ties used to bind the whole thing together.
Still, it was quite an amazing experience! c:
