With the lunar new year comes a new chinese zodiac animal to celebrate with. 2013 happens to be the year of the snake, which is disappointingly close to being the year of the tentacle.
But, if I can't change the chinese zodiac, I'll just have to adapt by sprouting a few snake tentacles this year instead! Since the year's element is water, the snakes are based roughly on the banded sea krait, and they've each promised me they'll be just as friendly and wriggly as my regular tentacles. Come right in close and they'll give you a hug, they only bite if you ask them nicely!
I originally had another artist lined up to do this picture, but unfortunately things fell through at the last minute.
Etuix was amazing enough to step up and complete the whole picture in the space of the weekend, and managed to wrap it up just in time for February 10th, New Year's Day on the lunar calendar!
