This is a Moleworm! It's a little creature I designed a while back, and I started to flesh them out a bit as of late. They only grow about a foot long from head to tail tip. Proportionally they have strong forearms with thick, shovel like claws to help them dig. Unlike moles, the moleworm developed large eyes and bioluminescent antennae to help them see exceptionally well in the dark. The reason for this is that though they dwell underground, they tend to make large colonies with wide passages, an often will leave the colonies at night to suck up moisture from dew or ponds. The lights can flash brightly, which can help when evading predators, and is also a part of mating rituals. Their furs is shaggy, but fine, smooth so that a moleworm can glide through its tunnels without damaging its skin. When adequate space is had, a moleworm will use it long tail and strong limbs to hop relatively quickly, almost at a rabbit's pace. Though they are quick, its primary defense is its burrows, which few animals can traverse due both to their small entrances and maze-like setups. As a social creature, Moleworms make surprisingly good pets, comparable to cats in obedience and affection, without the fickleness or tendency to scratch furniture. that said, a pet Moleworm should always be provided a set of tunnel-like places to hide or sleep in to maintain happiness and comfort.
