I have wanted to make an albino for such a long time! I finally got the nerve to give it a shot! I wanted to make it look as realistic as possible from the partially closed eyes to the pink flesh showing though the fur.
This mask features:
Moving jaw
follow me eyes
custom sculpted eyelids
eyelashes
Nose vents
The hardest part was honestly the eye lids, trying to sculpt in new ones while still having them look like part of the sculpt was a trick. The eyelashes are not just glued over them, I actually sculpted in groves for them to be inserted in so the fabric would not be visible. That was tricky!! But I love how they turned out.
This mask is for sale for $450!

Agreed, The other problem is that I cant use thinner mesh. With the black it absorbs the light hitting it and its not an issue, but with the white mesh it refracts the light and its like trying to walk around in dense fog. If your in a bright room you might be okay, but if you want to wear it to a dance or anything you would be blind. So I went for as fucntional as I could. :)
you can remedy that by painting the back black. as long as it doesn't show through i guess because you don't want to ruin the pure white look but i've read that anytime you use white mesh you have to paint the back black to the person inside can see and is not blinded by the white. I used white plastic mesh on the first and only suit i've ever made and it was impossible to see out of until i colored it black on the inside with a marker. it rubs off cuz it marker though so i think paint would be better
here's my mask if you're curious:

WOW. Just. WOW.
This is absolutely stunning.
Couple of things that make this AMAZING-
Like a few people have said, the lashes. So few makers put any kind of lashes on their realistic heads, and it's a real shame. Animals have lashes and whiskers (I don't expect to see whiskers on this, obviously) but the lashes are such an overlooked thing that it's nice to see them- and you've done them very well. They really help to give the face expression- and so few suits have real expression.
Secondly, and the big thing for me-
You have done MAGNIFICENTLY on those eyes. I see a few people try and tackle albinos, and though we all know what they are when they're done, these are the most REALISTIC albino eyes I have ever seen. I actually feel like I'm looking at the real thing- which is great!
All of the pink areas seem to have a shimmer- was the paint you used opalescent? I think it's a GREAT touch. These masks and their metallic/opalescent paints are really looking neat.
Now that you've done an albino, I'd love to see your take on a leucistic animal, or even seeing more albinos. It's those eyes that have me.
The only critique I would agree with is the visibility of the mesh- however, I can't really knock you too much for it. I understand why it had to be left white. Depending on how close the mesh is to the eyes, I'd almost think a smaller mesh might be less obvious, but I fear it would affect the vision too much.
I'd very honestly give this mask a 9.5/10. If I could see it in person (see how the mesh is, see how the mechanics work, etc) I would be able to rank it higher. (Although, if uglyduckling gets it, I will be able to see it in person!)
Either way, this is an absolutely stunning mask- It's a unique and original take on a realistic (and somewhat underappreciated) trait.

*Mind Blown*
First off, thank you. I really can not even sum up my gratitude for your kind words in such a simple statement. I honestly had to come back to your comment as I had to think about how I would respond!
Secondly, I actually had to look up leucistic. I'm familiar with albinos and piebalds but didn't know about leucistic animals. Honestly; it makes me want to build one, they are beautiful!
I strongly agree with your critique and plan to continue looking for better meshing options for white masks. I had in fact tried a white mesh with smaller fibers but it created too much vision obstruction, unfortunately so as it looked a bit more appealing then the one I ultimately chose. Painting the opposing side black to minimize light refracting into the mask also created unforeseen issues which eventually led me to use the one I went with.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only your compliments but also your critique, also for teaching me new things about animal coloration and above all having the kindness to take the time to do so.

You're very welcome! I meant every word of it- this mask really is so lovely. Your recent masks have been absolutely phenomenal- I'm really enjoying watching you progress!
I should have used the more common term. Leucism is commonly referred to as "white" (Such as white tigers.) The difference between Albinism and Leucism is that Leucism is a lowered amount of ALL pigments through a recessive gene, where as albinism is generally a complete absence of melanin (which gives our skin color as well as our irises, which is why the "pink" shows through- the pink is from the blood vessels).
Did you see the picture of the leucistic Zebra? That's what I call a unique animal! If you do one, make sure to keep using that iridescent paint- it REALLY makes the eyes pop!
I'm blind as a bat in fursuit anyway, so I can't imagine how hard it would be to see with that smaller mesh D: As much as I like things to look good, they're no use to me if I can't use them. A fursuit mask that can't be seen out of is, well, kind of silly, so I totally understand why you made that choice.
Again, this mask is absolutely stunning. Aside from the mesh (as I had commented on earlier) I really cannot find anything else wrong with it. (Granted, I can't see the inner mechanisms, or see how the jaw moves, so I can't say one way or the other). Just wow. I keep coming back to the picture just to stare at this mask, just because it's so lovely!
If you ever do another mask like this in the future (and I hope you do! This mask has such a soft, expressive look!) I'd love to see it with its ears in a relaxed position (somewhat laid back against the head).
It's a horrible time to be broke D:

Okay...someday I need to make one of those.. O.O
I really like the idea of lowering the ears into a more neutral position. I will have to try that on one of the next ones. I have another mask that will hopefully be posted today, I actually started it before this one. It just needs fur on the ears and the fur hood then its done! The feline I'm working on is really cool but I think this one is my favorite. I didn't do the sculpted lids/eyelashes on it, though I wanted it to look a bit more fierce. I will cirtainly be doing eyelashes again, not on all, but certainly on select ones that I want to have a "softer" look.
I really hope I get to work with you later this year! I love the idea's we've discussed and really want to make those two masks. Best part is I'll have time to practice in the mean time!
I actually had a tricky time deciding on what paints to use on this one. What I ended with was snow white mixed with white pearlescent for the main area and the pinks are a combination of red metallic, white pearlescent, and champagne pearlescent. :)
Thank you again, for everything!

Isn't the zebra so interesting? Who would have imagined that such a color scheme would be real in nature!
I can definitely understand that, fierce felines are awesome :D I can't wait to see it!
I'd love to see what different blanks you can come up with, too. Your fox and feline blanks are both really looking good! I'd love to see you tackle a bird of some kind, or even a large herbivore (horse/deer). TL;DR- You've got some good looking blanks going for you!
Oh, yes! I'm so excited for that. I'm working on trying to set aside money for them, and I just can't wait!
The white is lovely, but the pinks are to die for. You did an AWESOME job with the pinks. I'm hoping to see more metallic and iridescent paint from you in the future- you do such a good job with it!
Of course! Compliments will always be given to those that deserve them, and you definitely deserve them!

right now it's more on the waterline, I think

The main two reasons are the non furred faces are WAY lighter and easier to wear for those who are not accustomed to full out suit heads or medically can't handle the extra weight or heat they create. Also because of there being no fur it takes considerably less time to build these allowing me to sell them for a lot less then a full on fursuit head. This way people who don't have $1000 to spend on a partial have the option of something a bit more affordable. :) I'm glad you asked!
I could do a partial with legs, I can try for may but I can not promise it.
I looked up the Asian ball jointed dolls, your right she does look like a fox version of one of those. They are really pretty. I'm not sure if I could make a body that reflects that but I will brainstorm and see if i can come up with any ideas. If that's the style you want to go for you would almost want to stay away from bulky handpaws and use something like white lycra for the gloves and sew in the claws and pads. It could look really elegant.
