I love mud season... for some reason, but yes I too am concerned about all the melt water we will have to deal with, should spring come fast this year. The town I live in is in the mountains so if flooding takes those roads out I'm screwed! Until then, I have lots of pretty snow to gaze at :3
Mud season smells good, unless the farm next door's manure pile thaws out, then...UGH el-reek-o stink-ay! Sounds like wash outs would be the bigger issue where you live. Reminds me of a road trip I had to take once... a trek from Bridgeton to Jay.... And on that day I learn west to east travel in this state is like drunken washboards being chased by a bear over the hills ad nausium . So yes, hopefully no wash outs! It's hard enough to move around the state once you get past the foothills! X_X (PS, if I had to take that trip again, I'd avoid route 140, and stick with 117 until I found route 4!)
I live just east of Bridgton and know all too well about the washboard roads too... as my road always gets those bumps from the melt water. 117 is always a safe bet until you get near Oxford. Thank Christ I have studded snow tires, I would have been screwed on many a trips to Tim Horton's a few winters ago lol!
I wish the Timmy Hohos didn't close in Westbrook :< I miss butter caramel coffee yumminess. T_T Though if that dinner party thingy happens, I may need to share with you a story about my finance and a certain Tim Horton's incident. XD Streaked Mountain and Oxford, right? -snirks- Late night goofiness made me think for a second that place was called "streaker mountain!" Oh man! The images in my head!
Oi.... My mind. XD Need less late night coffee!
