My lovely red fox pelt, I’m so happy with him! I’m not sure if he is male or female, but I find myself using the male pronoun. He’s a good bit darker than I expected, the deep reds are gorgeous. <3 I’m going to reshape him a bit so he’s not so twisted up. Right now I'm brushing the burrs and tangles from his fur.
I was going to call him Gabriel because of the deep cross on his back, but his coloring is so firey that I’ve decided that I’m going to call him Kindle.
Yes, this is a real pelt. The fox was likely trapped for population control. :)
I have a great respect for all of my animals, dead or alive.

Wow, what a beauty! The cross is lovely, but I think my favorite bit is the splash of grey on his forehead. I wonder if it's a sign of age? Congrats on getting him! Your first pelt is always special.
I see you're already getting a lot of flak for posting the pics on your other account. I had a similar experience on DA. It's a shame how many people have huge misconceptions of taxidermy and immediately react with such hate. :/

The gray is more exaggerated in the photos, but I'm pretty sure it's just light frosting; he has a bit on his rump too. The hairs are white/cream, not silvery. C:
Thank you! He is already a special one for sure. He gives off nice vibes.
It really is a shame. Especially when you try to calmly explain your reasons for owning a pelt and reasons why things like pop. control are important, but they'll have none of it and continue to be ignorant and obnoxious. If they don't like it, then fine. Either let me try to educate you and have a conversation in a civilized manner, or just leave because it's not worth my time to talk to an ignorant cement block. :p
