Lone Wolf Mercenary Another day another job (w/story)
The helicopter flies through the sky towards the ship. Inside the helicopter though, Ghost is screaming up a storm as he was he tossed on the hole in his wolf behind. Fiona sits and just sort of rolls her eyes at him. Here was this fierce, deadly and renowned mercenary was just a howling and screaming like a baby pup. The pilot gave a little chuckle and called to the ship to have the doctor prepare his infirmary for wounded as they approached the ship and began to make a quick landing. As the chopper made its landing, Fiona hopped out like it was nothing but the door gunner helped Ghost walk as they climbed out. The pilot exited the cockpit and made his way over to Ghost, looking smug and full of himself. "Damn wolf didnt know you were such a pussy." He remarked as he started to laugh. In pure anger Ghost grabbed the pilot by his flight suit and gave him a quick and hard headbutt. A headbutt so strong that it knocked the pilot back onto his ass but giving Ghost a nice sized gash in his head. The pilot just sat there dazed and surprised by what just happened. Lucky for him though that he had his helmet on, cause the blow from Ghost cracked part of his helmet. Making him think that if he didn't have it on, he would probably be out-cold...or worse. Meanwhile Ghost, Fiona and the door gunner made their way down into the ship where the doctor was.
Hours later Ghost is laying out on the table all bandaged up as the ships doctor, a male Anthro German Shepard, cleans off some of his instruments. "Well you seem to be lucky there wolfie. A bit more to the left and a higher caliber...we would be calling you a bitch instead of a butch!" The doctor said with a german accent and began to laugh uncontrollably. Ghost was not amused though. "Oh come now my dear wolf. You must laugh at such jokes, cause as they say. Laughter is the best medicine! And I should know! Im a doctor!" Standing there, looking proud. "More like a complete nut job....Now if you done I would like to get some rest." Ghost said with a grumble. "Fine! Be that way." The doctor said, clicking his heels together and taking his leaving. Seeming to curse in German as he left. After the doctor left, Fiona soon stepped in and sat down. She had a few bandages on her but was in better in condition then Ghost. The two looked at each other for a second before Ghost finally spoke to her. "Hey listen....Ummm thanks for coming back for me. I know I said a few things back there, but I really didn't mean any of it. Just...uhh...yeah." Ghost coughs, as he was not use to giving apologies to many people, especially people he just met. Fiona smiled at him. "It's no problem. To be honest, I probably needed a bit of that tough love to kick me into gear. Sorry for tossing you into the chopper." She said with a blush. "Its alright. Not the first time I am getting tossed around." He said as they shared a chuckle before going silent again. Ghost gave another cough before speaking. "Sooo ummm since we got some time off after this how about you and me get some dinner at a nice restaurant?" He asked, she blushed and kind of looked around. "I would...but I am sort of seeing someone." "Oh...well this is awkward. How about we forget that part, deal?" She chuckled a little. "Deal. Well I better let you get some rest." Fiona said as she began to sit up and leave. "By the way Fiona..." She stopped to listen to him. "Tell no one that I apologized to ya. I have a reputation to keep, plus I don't feel like killing the whole crew just to keep my rep up." She laughed a bit and nodded, hoping he was mostly joking but hard to tell with him sometimes. Ghost went back to sleep as he would be out of commission for the new few months, besides he needed a vacation after all he went through.
Nearly three months have passed since Ghost arrived at his home to recover. Most of his days he spent watching television, reading or having sex with the wolfess nurse he hired to look after him while he was injured. He never really told her why he was injured and she didn't care, cause he was over-paying her anyways, so why should she ask any questions. One day Ghost receives a automated phone call to report to a certain address. Most times he would think it was a set up or an ambush, but this address he knew right away who it belonged to....It was the summer home of Mr. White. Ghost was well enough to drive his Mustang all the way there, the whole time he drove he wondered what this could be about.
As he pulls into the driveway and up to the house, he parks his car and walks to the door. For a summer home, this place was a nice little mansion but tiny compared to what Mr. White's real home must be like. Ghost rings the doorbell and greeted by the human maid. "Hi, Mr. White is expecting me." She nods and leads him upstairs and to a pair of large finely crafted wooden double doors. "He is inside. I will take my leave." She said politely as she begins to walk away. Ghost slowly turns the knob and enters. "You in here you old bastard." He asked as he entered. "Ahhh Ghost nice to see you. Come in Come in! Have a seat and a smoke." White offered to him as Ghost entered and closed the door behind him.
As Ghost sat down, he took the cigar and lite it. "Mmmm Cuban?" "You know it Mr. Gump." White said with a grin and chuckle. Ghost giving him a look as he was obviously referring to Ghost being like the movie character Forest Gump. "Look, save the ass jokes for later....What the hell do you want? I got better things to do." White realizing he best just get to the point, tosses a file labeled Classified to Ghost. "Read it." He says as Ghost opens it up and starts to read. Inside the file is a newspaper article that is in Japanese, three reports on soldiers, with DECEASED stamped on them and then what looks like a police report on a young man. This one in english, probably translated as Ghost thought to himself. "Soooo three dead soldiers and some dude. Why is this so important?" Ghost asked, not really getting what was going on as he didn't properly read everything. Mr. White sighed as he sat back in his chair. "Those three boys were on shore leave in Tokyo. They were just out drinking and having a good time til some Yakuza punks decided to attack, rob and murder those men for no reason." "Why not let the cops deal with it. Seems like an open and shut case." Ghost responded. "Tried that...damn cops were either paid off or to afraid to do anything. Only reason you got that info there is cause I had a few people dig up that info and translate it." "White...why is this so important?" White sighs and looks at Ghost. "One of those boys is the son to General Arthur Wolsten. A close and personal friend of mine....I knew his son. He was a good boy, never made trouble so anyone. He didn't deserve what happened to him." White's voice getting louder. "I promised that man that I would avenge his son! And make those bastards pay!" Ghost just sat there looking at him, realizing that this was very personal to White. Ghost slowly closed the file and took a big inhale from his cigar. "So....whats the plan?" He said with a grin as he held the cigar. White smiled a bit and laughed. "Now that's what I want to hear. Lets get down to business then, cause this ain't going to be your typical job." White said with a grin as he tossed a few more files onto the desk while Ghost started to read them and hear White's plan for this.
The Lone Wolf Mercenary started out alone but now he is set on the path to work with others again and on mission that will test his skills and trust of others. Whether he lives or dies, is up to him and the people he works with. Only time will tell...
