The New Toy
A commercial flashes on the screen,
Its a new toy, rarely seen,
The girl jumps in a flash,
Into her car with a quick dash,
She finds her prize,
Then back home she flies,
The new features astound,
there’s no other like it around,
She keeps him for a year,
Stuck to her side she keeps him near,
Eventually he drops from sight,
Her affections to him grow light,
Then there it is on the screen,
Another new toy, one rarely seen,
The girl jumps in a flash,
And into her car with a quick dash,
She brings him home,
He shines like new chrome,
A new toy, better then before,
She doesn't need the old one anymore,
Lost and forgotten only loved when he's found,
Just something old, familiar, and always around,
He's completely replaced by something new,
Tossed aside like an old shoe,
He enters the trash in a unloved heave,
he was wrong to think she'd never leave,
He lives his days fighting to survive,
He still remembers how she used to drive,
And with her love a must,
He's long forgotten in the dust,
And as his toy heart dies,
Still no one knows that a forgotten toy cries.
Eh I wrote this in regards to an almost failed relationship I was having that I resolved *Yays!* I felt i was going to be tossed aside and since it was christmas time I compacted the emotion into toy form. It could use duct tape but I believe it still works dang it.
