Oh my god, I loved the shit out of this game as a kid. I remember begging my dad to buy me the new versions when we were at Best Buy. I had the Catz dolls that they came out with, haha. And then I reinstalled in on my old computer in high school when I found out about the mods you could do.

That game is awesome, and your sandcat is cute.

OMG I used to spend so many hours playing this game. Still my favorite pet sim of all time.

I still use resource hacker to hex mostly (I do most markings in petz workshop as it's easier to see), because I'm old fashioned! Haha. But PW really opened the doors for more people to hex. There are a few things it can't do, though. It can't anchor or texture paintball markings.

Man I was ALL THE FUCK ABOUT Petz and other AI games in the 90s. I've played it on and off occasionally since... good times. I had a Dalmatian with black and liver spots named Teo who was the light of my digital life back in the day.

I loved this game X3 I tried to play it again a couple years ago but couldn't find anything to let me play it on a newer operating system v.v it made me so sad.
I love this little guy though X3 I think if I could play with him in my game, he would be my favorite >_>

Oh yeah, I remember there were problems when Windows Vista came out. I dunno if it's the same issue you were having, but it was determined that installing into "My Documents" worked, instead of installing into "Program Files". I run Petz 4 on Windows 7 currently :)

Man, I love these games. I own all of them and Petz 4 or Petz 5 is always a requirement on my computer at the very least.
This is one adorable hexie! I admit..Russian Blue are probably one of my favorite catz personality-wise. I suppose it is a tie between them and meezers.

I still have copies of petz5 running around, as well as oddballz. I loved that game and I loved finding new breeds all for them ^.=.^

This game was my first computer obsession. XD WOW. I'm pretty sure I still have the disks for them around here somewhere... I remember staying up ALL hours of the night, trying to make new breeds from scratch. X3~

I loved Catz! but I lost the registration code for my disc

OMG! I had Petz II and I was so sad when my HDD crashed and when I went to get all the free downloads (like the extra breeds and the music box) only to find PF Magic went under and the Petz name was sold off. (Oddballz was the shiz)

I never edited my Petz and now I'm not sure why I didn't. Nothing ever stopped me from having custom norns on Creatures.

Petz 4 (both catz and dogz) was actually my first Petz game! Then I got Dogz 5 and didn't like it as much. I never had Oddballz the game, but I remember there were a few oddballz breeds that were hexed to work in the Petz games. So I had a few of those!

Petz II was sadly my only Petz game. My friend had 3 and I wanted it so badly. You're lucky you got to play the ones with outside areas and such. Just the play room and no breeding got a little boring after a while. I remember seeing Petz 4 in Babbages and practically having a fit because my parents wouldn't let me get it. ^^;
Was 5 when it got weird and added the circus? I remember the box on one of them describing a circus area and other "fun" areas that I couldn't see making much sense for cats and dogs to be running around frolicking in.

Technically I never had Oddballz either. I had the demo and downloaded all the breeds but even only having treats and a gun it was incredibly fun. The demo ones couldn't run away either. So yay. No heartbreak. lol

3 and 4 don't work anymore, but luckily 5 does!

This game was MY SHIT as a little kid.

Woo! Every few months or so, I get the urge to open the game and breed stuff. I usually don't get around to it, though D: But I've got Petz4 on my computer :)
