Through the Sea of Time (Orchestra DEMO)
ReMix project, doing some orchestra and what not. I don't normally remix but I make exceptions every now and then. What to say... not EQ'd yet, volume levels need work, and it isn't done, but it's sounding okay.

The first thing I hear when I play it is the MIDI. I know it off by heart, so I instantly recognized it. I'd recommend fiddling with it so it's not so obvious you used it, as songs that follow the MIDI often get less views. Use the OST, but not too much that it sounds exactly like that, either. Make sure it sounds like your own work, in other words. However, the quality is amazing, and the instruments all fit in well with each other. Considering that I sat down with my Music Teacher and both our efforts couldn't remix the first few bars, this is pretty awesome!
reading sheet. thanks to my bad memory, more songs might just 'pop in' and 'drop out'... I'm actually replaying the game right now, so when I get up to chapter 19, I can finally confirm everything.
I've said this so many times it sounds stupid, but I'm still overwhelmed you said yes. If I can do anything to return the favor!

I went back and re-attempted a remix of this song (today) and the results were really good, but they kinda became a disco song, rather than background music for a crazy and sad anticlimax. I was shocked, because I did it by memory, with no MIDI help or even the OST, but when I put the MIDI in at the end to check my results, I had copied it almost note for note! Yet the two versions sound so different...
I don't, I just was messing with a midi file, the flutes/trombone/violas and cellos/oboes was me, but the piano was not, nor the violins, those were piano notes I decided would be better as violins. But hey, with some theory, I'll be able to make cool stuff like that! Someday.
