Nothing in This World More Dangerous Than a Wounded Pontiac.
Have I mentioned lately that I despise idiots who slam their brakes on in front of me on the interstate, causing a swerve, spin and smack into the cable retaining wall in the median?
(sigh) Ah, well. Sheet metal can be straightened and lights replaced...
I'm fine, myself. Just muttered some curses sotto voce and kept driving to work, much to the amazement of some of my fellow workers who said they'd have had to sit there for half an hour until their nerves were under control.
Poor ol' Christine, tho. She got a boo-boo on her flank.

Meep! I hate it when that happens! Luckily I never had something like that happening to me before, but I did once have a row of six or so cars coming at me on a narrow two-lane road, with trees on one side and houses on the other side, and at the back of that row, the last car started overtaking the others... coming straight at me. Luckily there was a gap in the row of houses where a small gas station was situated, so I managed to dive onto that before we had a full head-on collission.
*looks at the picture and shakes her head*
Look at that bumper... and the damage to the skin of the rear wing. The paint's cracked clear off down to the primer layer. You're going to have to get the whole side resprayed from the C-pillar down, it's not like you can just replace the rear wing, it's part of the bodywork itself. You'll need a new rear bumper, rear right taillight cluster, and judging by the nasty creases and pits in the decklid, you might be looking at a replacement for that as well, I don't know if a bodyshop can straighten that out...
*giggles softly*
Well, perhaps the Mason Motors bodyshop can straighten that out, especially since they have such awesome staff there, including a tan kitty, and you know what they say, nothing beaths the flair of the feminine feline toush =~.^=

I was planning a complete respray anyhow, at some point, as the clearcoat on the bonnet is gone...and, judging by the 1/4" of Bondo back there, this isn't the first time this has happened to the poor thing.
But I'm sure the lads (and lasses) of Mason Motors could handle the job! ~.^

Ah! Yes, that sounds like a good idea; this silver looks like metallic, and it's a crime to get that resprayed on only a part of the body, so a full body respray is the best option, and I would recommend stripping to the bare metal as well, with the amount of damage now done to that rear wing.
*chuckles*
I have no doubt the folks of Mason Motors would do an awesome job! And I'm also sure that both my streetracer crew and a certain fluffy white carnutty kitty would be more than happy to lend a paw =~.^=

Ooo, you have that as well? When a car reaches a certain age, it gets classic status? We have that too, it's been a lot of fiddling because they wanted to stop that, but now a compromise has been reached, so we still get the benefits.
*giggles*
It does make for funny situations, though, because a lot of cars you'd never think of as a classic car are now exactly that. I'm actually looking at getting me an old Fiat Ritmo again; my dad had one, I learned how to drive in that car, but it's the kind of car no one thought to do any preservation work on because it never looked like a classic car. Nowadays they're rarer than a Ferrari Testarossa! =~.^=

And I know what you mean viz. the Ritmo; I'd love another Datsun B-210! (Nissan Sunny to you.)

Oh yes! I remember those! Golly, I think those were one of the last few models before Datsun was taken up by Nissan. I remember the nextdoor neightbor of our previous address had a Datsun Sunny... wow, that was about 30 years ago already. Don't time go quick, don't it?
*giggles*
I actually saw a 1980 Fiat Ritmo 75 for sale, with an LPG conversion done on it, for only a couple hundred... very very tempting. Not quite the same as my dad's old car, that was a dark azure blue Ritmo 60L, and this one is a faded red 75, but eh, it's a Ritmo, and the only one I actually found on the CarTrader site =~.^= *giggles* I actually gave one of my newer characters a dark azure blue 1980 Ritmo as a daily driver, too...

Ah yes, the 200SX! You can still find those here as well, plus its predecessor the 100NX... though those are harder to find, at least in original state, most have been pimped out and ragged into the ground by boy racers =Þ I really been wanting a 240SX, but those have hardly been released here in the Netherlands. I once found two though, but too expensive and I didn't have my license back at that time yet, so that was bummer...
*chuckles*
I might be tempted by a Xedos 6 though... back then that was the "premium" spin-off of... Mazda I believe, and you can get those for silly money nowadays because no one remembers them, and they're virtual limousines! So big and roomy!

Ah, yes. Flip Over, Read Directions.
While driving to Mephit Furmeet a few years back, I saw a chap in a Fiesta go sideways, dig into the median, flip three or four times and wind up on his roof in the oncoming shoulder. He was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag did its job, so all the paramedics had to do was brush the glass out of his hair, put a bandaid on his forehead and send him on his way...

Hee! Good for you.
I have a minor but dependable tradition of going sideways on I-540:
