My first (purposely halfassed) attempt at making a bottlecap pendant thing with varnish instead of a proper resin or anything. Now the paper of mah subject, Shining Armor was uber thin, so you can see through to the back, but I was just using whatever was close by instead of anything purposely printed or anything more substantial XD
Just my little pony toy foldout was thar, and so yeah xP
Another obstacle I ran into, was that I had NO FRIGGING CLUE what temperature or environment my varnish (Duraclear glossy) needed to cure properly x.x
Like I could see the tutorial vids, but had no clue where and how I should put them to dry well. See, I had put it in one of my smaller jewelry cases, with the lid on, to protect the still-wet varnish, but leaving it thar for over a day, it was STILL wet and gooey and whatnot, so I was all D8
So I tried the next logical thing, and just set it in front of my fan, and BOOM in just a few hours it was already much clearer, and fully cured by the time I woke up.
As you can also see, its still bubbly, the image wasn't pressed down completely into the cap, the cap itself isn't pressed out, paper was thin, the black from the burning of the cap is still there, and there's a BIGASS BUBBLE above his head, but its still wicked cool to me XD
I was all GLEEEEEE and dancy x3
SO yah, I had ordered bottlecaps and epoxy stickers, and wondering about making them to sell, but I'd need to actually get better at them first XD
so yah xP
