Aries has a stroke of realization at his words, seeing the whole picture now at last as her detective training kicks in.
Erton, desperate to brag to *someone*, tells her what his plan is. (Yes, a little cliche, but bear with me!)
Aries though, having something up her sleeve, gives him the predatory smile that would become famous later in her career. The dark smile that would send tyrants and warlords alike into shivering fits.

Yeah, Elliot and I were taking a hiatus for the holidays.
Now though, the ball rolls once more!
And that fourth panel we see a glimpse of the woman Aries is growing into. This little betrayal stirred something inside her. The realization that the world would swallow her up if given the chance.
