I did this after fighting myself trying to find a right concept since some sketches I've tried either were too crappy or just didn't set well with me in some fashion or another. A lot of things have happened last year, most importantly her mother passing away. I have to give her credit for a number of reasons. For one, she kept her work going strong despite how down she felt, and I probably have no need to get into these things here.

The significance with this however dates back to an old tradition I once had. It was myself and other members of a role playing community who began this tradition when our members were lost due to bad events that circled them up to and including a death. In game or out, we would put candles in the front window "So that the lost may find their way home". I can't even begin to tell what it means to me, as it's one thing to spin stories, and another entirely to live them.

Still, the candle in the window is a very important tradition to me and seemed to be the most fitting.
