2008 self portrait pencils
With the new year means it's time to start grinding at my yearly picture. It's always been something representational of the year past and I get to play with various bits of symbolism.
This time around the main theme is that I'll let you through the opening in my armor once, and if you use it as a chance to hit me don't expect me to let you in a second time, and don't expect me to not be perfectly capable of hitting back and hitting back harder.

I see my pencils more as 'insane glob of non photo blue' personally ;) I used to use red erasable pencil to 'ink' my sketches to clean them up a bit, but people told me they looked like funky 3D images when I did that. Hee!
What I'll do at this point is tweak and tighten things up in graphite until they look like I want them to. Then I'll light table it to a piece of Bristol and commence with the fancy inking and coloring and stuffs.
I really wish I could do digital inking like a lot of folks seem to be able to manage. All my digital inks come out looking like jagged sawblades and scribbly messes.
