I'm sick of furries maing out this hobby to be something more then worrying about coming out. Honestly, most parents are not ogres! But hey ho, here we go, on the Coming Out-mobile. No swearing, no mature language, just me being a creative genius as this came out word perfect!
And yes.. it is in rich text format. Everyone can read it!

I'm the eternal optimist. Anyways, got my fursuit in a box (I was out so they took it for me) and when I explained what it was for.. well, I was essentially given the green light. And I didn't want my mum to know at first because she's a little judgemental (says she isn't, but hey, she can't see what I do) but when I said I wanted to get out more, that was fine. No mention of porn or suchlike, but that's private and not a Need To Know thing.
I "came out" of the furry closet so to speak to my parents, and I'm very happy that it went about 100 times better than I expected...although my parents did talk about the sex stuff, but thats only because my parents are total hippies and are really open about sex and stuff and actually like to talk about it, as do I, so it all works out. Still, it does get a little annoying that my mom nudges me and points out every anthro animal on the television as if I was going to get really excited over it XP
Except, I have observed, some furries do see ownong a fursit to obsess over and be some badge of honour as so amusingly quipped x) - and some of us unfortunates have (a) parents who would like nothing more than Margeret Thatcher to own the country and for all "weirdoes" to be sent to psychiatric help, even though they claim "let live" and all those other cover slogans.
However, as a leveller and a pleasent look at the point, good stuff.
