Wow! A shorter chapter but it came up WAY sooner than I expected! I am happy!

Kathrine soon woke up with her head pounding
"Urg, what happened?"
She looked at the ground beside her and saw footprints of a familiar shoe track.
"Micheal? Where are you?"
Still woozy Kathrine got up but due to the scratches, the pain stabbed her when she tried to get up normally, she fell down wincing from the pain.
"Darn it! That hurts!"
She heard a rustling in the bushes from beside her. Kathrine got up slowly still wincing a bit but the pain was lessened a little this time, probably due to adrenaline. She was quite scared, in too much pain to move quickly she could be killed if the thing in the bushes was a threat.
“Kathrine is that you?”
“Micheal! You’re alive!”
Kathrine was so glad and releived to hear Micheal’s voice, she had thought he would have died! She ran over not feeling pain because she was so exited and distracted and hugged Micheal.
“ow-ow-ow careful, the burns are still there.” He winced a bit.
Oops! Sorry I…
This was the first time she had looked at Micheal’s face since she passed out and she was tongue tied, she was used to seeing the burns but his eyes were a milky white, lifeless. His posture was hunched due to the severe burns on his back. Both of them were quite severely shocked at the other’s appearance
“Ah! What happened to you?”
“Me? What happened to you!?”
Kathrine still being shocked my Micheal’s appearance looked down at her self, she was quite badly scratched and there was a deep gouge on the right side of her torso, where her liver was… or used to be anyways.
“B-but how are we alive then? We should be dead with these kind of injuries!”
“You haven’t even figured it out yet?”
Another voice, unfamiliar even from our “friends” we grouped up with earlier. A group of shadows appeared including a silhouette of the Tank she saw earlier.
“Zombies! Look out!”
Kathrine tried to reach down for her pistols but she found them gone, her AK-47 was gone too.
“Hahaha! Look who’s talking!”
Kathrine seemed quite confused, for one the statement and two…
“I must have lost a lot of blood, I could have sworn the Hunter talked to me…”
“Well… I can hear him too you know.”
“WHAT?”
“You guys are acting very weird…” the Hunter commented.
“Well you would too if you don’t know what the darn was happening to you!” Kathrine snapped back.
“Whoa! Easy there! We are going to explain!”
“Sorry, I’m…I’m just a little freaked out…”
Kathrine started to calm down a little but was still obviously confused and overwhelmed by the situation
“You two have been Infected…”
