Vector - Kunpeng in Flight (Y-20)
100% Vector goodness returns! Here go my first-ever anthro-plane attempt for the successfully test-flighted aircraft named Y-20 (運-20).
This giant birds is one of the most prideful and ambitious design for Chinese Aircraft developers. Having quite a breed of IL-76, Airbus A400 and Boeing C-17 into one as their own indigestion aircraft. It's smaller than C-17, but bigger than IL-76, and able to lift one heavy tank (about 60 tonnes) in a flight for the rapid military logistics, as well as for the humanitarian rescue from many disasters, or other unpredictable situations.
This plane is one of my best favorite from many other Chinese-made aircrafts, aside with J-20 Stealth Fighter and KJ-2000 AWACS. So I've decide to anthropomorphize Y-20 as a cartoon-ish guppy-bird. I'm a little bit crashed into anthro-plane community for now, so I felt rather happy to draw him.
This livery scheme is based on the newest PLAAF military transport's painting in 2012.
Oh, beside calling him Kunpeng (鯤鵬, which means the giant, fish-like bird on the legend), he is definitely need a new name. Anyone can help? :D
And the Chinese word on his cheek is mean "Chinese Air Force (中國空軍) ".
12 hours (excluding break-time) to finish this artwork with Microsoft Expression Design 4.
