Just a basic sheet of a race I created that I called "Aurdites".

Aurdites are small creatures, the largest individuals tend to be up to 50 cm long (from head to tips) and they are capable of low altitude flight. They more or less "swim" through the air.
Their body is luminescent and most commonly blue, although other colors exist. Their "hair" is small tentacles that can change size and colors, resulting in individual "hairstyles".
An Aurdite tend to live in a swarm with other Aurdites and they communicate with eachother with a low-level shortranged telepathy, but they are capable of learning and speaking (they have bright voices). The Aurdites are also social when it comes to other races and is naturally curious.
Aurdites are herbivores. They prefer grapes.
They reproduce similar to plants, as they release spores which stick to surfaces and grows into a pod containing a new Aurdite. They prefer to release spores in moist areas.
The entire Aurdite race is cursed with bad luck, so bad that they have envolved their own way to counter it. They all have their own aura that nullifies the bad luck. The aura can only affect one individual at a time, so if an Aurdite befriend another creature, they lose this aura temporary.
The lifespan of an Aurdite is uncertain, as they often fall victim for accidents.
For self defence, an Aurdite can release a bright flash of light which could temporary blind an enemy but doing this results in the Aurdite to be fatigued. A swarm doing this together, could result in long term blindness or even permanent blindness. An Aurdite's own eyes are resistant to extremely bright light and will not take any damage.
