she looks a lot different from my bristlenose. mine has always had a lot less spots than that, though his spots have totally vanished as he grew, which I blamed on the dark nature of the tank. He kinda has a gold dust look to him in the sunlight as well.

This one a male. :) Still not grown out to his bristles yet, but they're growing up hi head.

thought it was already a sub adult by the body. I heard there's like 8 species or so of bn plecs, do you think mine is a different species from this one?

It is a sub adult, just a late bloomer. Haha.

There' a lot more than 8 species of Ancistrus. Yours could well be a different species.
