Yoik :"This was a piece I've been working on and off for about a month, It's a quarry themed rattle. The base is vertebrae from bison, the 'drum' is made from buckskin and it's attached to the bone with hemp twine. This piece also has several buffalo teeth hanging from it so it produces several sounds. It also has some leather cord wrapped on it and rabbit hide as decorative elements.
This is an all prey piece. Rattles are used to ward off malicious spirits as well as to assist in guided meditations and induce the subject into a trance like state through rhythm.
