They are wolverines, actually. It's hard to tell when I put them in armor like this, unless you notice the tail and the barely visible cheek ruff and tail-stripe. 83

Man wolverines look like bears when they wear armor

Wolveries are often mistaken for small bears in real life. It's an easy mistake to make and the armor made it much harder to distinguish the species. Well, except for the word 'wolverine' appearing twice in the Wall of Text. 83

WoW what better reason to have armor when you can have a MAN-EATING bear in ARMOR... careful GRANMA and LITTL' RED and Goldielocks are packing HEAT!!!

*chuckles* hmm does that armor have room for flexing around the belly area and a quick off latch for his/her bum/crotch (for easy eating/poopin/sexin) *blush* I am such a pervert *smacks himself*. NIce work as always!

The codpiece is easily removed for relieving him/herself. Eating would be restricted to small meals -- no way could he/she snarf someone while wearing that, even if he/she can swallow people. (Not all gul can swallow people whole.)

Are all of these gulo red or just this one?

Gul normally wear plain, un-ornamented, dark grey or black armor. Since this one was going to be standing next to one in that sort of armor, I at first made the armor light blue-white. I didn't like the look and tried other colors, eventually settling on red. Now, either this one is an officer and needs to stand out, or else the ferals do the opposite of typical gul and dress in colorful armor. I lean toward the latter -- they are going to run ahead of the main force and attack first, and they want the enemy looking at them instead of shooting at the second rank or the mages, etc.

tl;dr Feral gul apparently like red armor.

I like the second idea too. They already sound like perverbial tanks so one charging in and taking shots no one else could survive is a good idea. Plus red armor wouldn't be as difficult to clean
