hmm, maybe you can change my mind.
okay, i just watched some videos of the psp one since i have a psp...anyway, i dont like when you attack a monster it never flinch so they easily can counter attack you(maybe im wrong) also it look like the game have a story ,is just go and hunt and it look like you cant learn new skills or something like that so the game is all about slashing the monster,at least that will make the game less linear and generic and a little more interesting and to end this is the dificulty...i hear is very hard that you must play with other friends and since im the only one with a psp around here and my psp have comunication problems...well im lonely.
thats all.

Ok, lets see. The key to monster hunter is knowledge and preparation. Think a little of pokemon, You got your work and a half using a bug based armor with a fire based weapon against a Fire monster like a Rathalos. The libraries in the game are there to help you about almost every aspect of your surrounding, from the monsters, weapons, and items, to the habitats, weather, and the materials you can find in the wild.
For story, its not much of an RPG because you are basically a hunter in a new setting, a NOBODY. You start trying to make a name for yourself as a hunter, completing missions and collecting bounties and rewards. When your guild starts noticing your success, you start getting trusted with higher pay missions, scavenger hunts, and quests. You can either buy armor or use mining equipment to mine ores for minerals and/or hunt monsters and carve their carcasses for key parts to create armors. All armors have specific abilities, upgrades, and other bonuses that will help you on the job as a Guild Hunter progresses. the same goes with weapons. Not long after your missions, you start to notice that the life as a hunter ISN'T cheap (especially if you choose to be a gunner), so you start learning right away that gathering stuff while on your missions is a great way to cut cost instead of buying them from the stores and markets.
In terms of hardness, this games shows its prowess as not spoon feeding you weak bosses right out the gate. Every monster has strengths and weakness. Hitting a different area on the body does different amount of damage. A head shot may be critical to one type of monster but that might do little to almost NO damage to a different monster. WARNING: as you progress you will come across a monster that may look similar to a monster you faced earlier on. Like a critical hit area on a green Rathien may not apply to a different color Rathien of a different habitat.
THERES a Reason this game is pretty much a Religion in Japan. XD
