I always thought Shadow's shoes looked weird, even if they were rocket-propelled. Even so, I still really liked him and had a bit of a crush on him when I was younger... until I saw the cartoon series on New Grounds of Sonic the Hedgehog story-arcs done in 3 minutes or less.
Shadow's entire character is based off of, "Who am I? Why am I here? I'm sad and I don't trust anyone! I'm not Sonic (but I wish I was)!"
Now that I'm done making fun of Shadow, I think this piece was done really well. I particularly like his facial expression!

His appearanc eon the cover when i was really young told me "nope, no sonic, i want to see what this badass is all about."
so i instantly chose Dark side of story and meh'd everything up to Shadows first appearance. His character was mysterious and questions everything involving his memory and the situation at hand outside of helping Eggman. He can have those emo moments but when things happen, he can look cool Kinda like Emerl just without the Emo.

Oh gosh... Emerl... I actually played through Sonic Battle. It was easy to play against Rouge because she spent all her time floating and not attacking, but it was even easier to play as her because you could stay floating forever while constantly drop-kicking and bouncing back into the air.
