So, as some of you know, we just returned from tabling at Further Confusion with ;iconaurelina: for
podcastigation. While we were there, we premiered these free fake Jack Chick pamphlets about the DANGERS of MY LITTLE PONY.
These things were actually surprisingly popular and they seemed to make the rounds pretty quickly. I didn't expect that, b

It's kind of tedious (at least the only way I know of to do it is). You copy the address of each post, click edit on each post in turn and paste the relevant addresses into the posts. Probably easiest to do this from a short document with all the addresses so you can just copy-paste from it. Ends up being nifty to have for easy linking/viewing when you're done. :)
I say people consider the show not fit for lil kids is because of the thought process behind the idea with how surreal and creatively intelligent the episodes would often be which are meant to be for the sake of educating the kids while presenting more in depth story progressions which revel in the ideal thoughts of how it matches real life situations involving growing up as a person and as a friend. Sometimes people have fantasy situations along with how often we end up in predicaments where we owe and need help from others to help fulfill that debt. There is also the thought that some of the ways the characters are portrayed would actually be considered as ways to help make the viewers who watch feel the ability to attach themselves to each pony in question as if they themselves were able to think the same way as they do in understanding and acceptance.
I stopped caring about the target ages for things.
Pokemon is for kids, but most adults I know play it. COD is for adults, but I only know kids who play it.
and then there's adult shows on current television. It's either really pretentious stuff like breaking bad, or it's things like Honey Boo Boo; which remind me why I hate my own species.

breaking bad is really pretentious.
remember the part where dubstep plays as a man who is a cancer patient and has resorted to making methamphetamine with his former high school student to pay for his treatment revs up street cars with his son that has cerebral palsy with the subtitle [REVVING INTENSIFIES]?
obviously a show only for patrician folk

I read every one of those Jack Chick comics because they were in the bathroom of my karate dojo. I read them for the lols and did find it amusing that each and every one of them ended with someone dieing(even if it was just to make a point about something pointless). The one that got me the most was the one where an atheist made a violent revolution against his brother's will. I counted at least 9 in-panel deaths with guns and fire. You know, for kids!
I take it that you have read a few of those as well. Which one did you find most disturbing?

I remember that one! The hypocrisy of that comic is astounding. Every other comic is like " Sacrifice your fun for Jesus" but that one states that if you do something productive for the well-being of people, you goen' tuh' hell!
The funniest thing in all of these comics is how there is one good christian character states that he loves Jesus, and suddenly, the person they were talking to suddenly burst into flaming anger. This 'antagonist' character, who comes right out of another universe, gets so mad that his/her eyes start to bulge out of their head and their text-font becomes SUPER BOLD!!!
The way they portray people of other ideological standpoints becomes 1960's Batman ridiculous.

On the execution front, a nod to the Chick Tracts for sure, though I wish it was a little more subtle by not uploading the cover. Then again, I'm not quite sure how many people are aware with the actual comics, so it may be all the same to them. On the comic's obvious satirical message, I think any more commentary about a made-up sub-culture that, even if it were real, would be small compared to many other subcultures, is just more white noise. You might as well say that water's wet. It exists only as a fabrication of maybe one or two thousand people, and this INCLUDES their critics.
Don't take it personally, man, I'm just a bit haggard from people continuing to entertain the idea when it's really a cult following. There's a difference between culture and fads, and the only thing that can convince a fad to end is time. Or another fad. I know what your ultimate goal was in drawing this, so don't take this as me putting words in your mouth. This is just me complaining about how this is the sixth time we have destroyed our precious free time talking about the worth, purpose and target of such fads, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

"now he's dead"
You can't repent when you are dead!
Also, usually people consider dying a bad thing. I don't know why.. because if its an accident, and you've spent your life praising Christ and whatnot, isn't going to heaven a GOOD thing? We should be HAPPY when Christians die! er, you know what I mean
Also, Puppy Bowl 2012!!!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GgflsOufQI

I am sorry for posting something that I feel like I have to explain in ANOTHER post.
"We should be HAPPY when Christians die! er, you know what I mean"
I realize that some people have been exposed to conditions where somebody might say something like that and actually mean it in a bad way.
I've been raised in a situation where there is very little actual hate between people. I'm jaded in this way because of that and sometimes I forget it.
I don't hate Christians nor wish them harm.

wow agouti. this actually amazing. you worded your argument excellently, and it's hilarious as well. :D I'm surprised you didn't see these being popular. it's so good! I'm going to point people in the direction of this comic when people start shooting the "its not actually made for girls" comment at me. XDD
