So do I. Unless I identify which pieces of my art were created using Zbrush and Photoshop or just plain Photoshop, no one seems to notice. And oddly, the few people who do notice tend to prefer my straight up Photoshop work. Furthermore, the model I painted this on was sculpted paintstakingly in Zbrush "pen to stylus" as you say. It's not like I'm painting over someone else's 3D model or a Poser model. I sculpted that then I had to pose it and light it. If you doubt how much effort goes into it, ask Naira. She watched me working on it. I just don't understand why using different tools makes my art less "worthy."
Lastly, for future reference, I wouldn't go around publicly telling other artists that they are better than another artist, especially when those two artists happen to be close friends. That is something you should save for PMs. That way there is less chance to cause a controversy. Just a suggestion.

Of course you're entitled to you opinion. I'm merely making a suggestion that you shouldn't negatively compare artists this way in public because it is considered rude, at least to me. I dunno, maybe others would disagree. Nevertheless, you could have said it privately or expressed your opinion in a way that doesn't refer to my artwork as "less than."
Quite frankly, I'm more worried that someone will see your comment and whiteknight up big-ass a flamewar. (To anyone reading this, please don't.) I care about Naira and I don't want her to have to go through that. I don't want to go through that either. I've been through it before- it is not fun.
As to me being a nice person.... Are you really concluding that I'm not a nice person based on this one single interaction?

I'm not trying to hassle you, really. You seem like a nice person and very sweet. And for the record, I'm not butthurt that you like her art better than mine. Sometimes I do too. :P What bugs me is that people seem to think 3D art has less value or that it's easier than 2D or that it takes less effort. This is not the case at all. But anyway, I'm sure you don't want to listen to me prattling on about the pros and cons of combining 2D and 3D art. X3 Besides, I've got to go take my fat arse on my nightly jog. Toots.
Lol at least you can jog XD military messed me up so bad I cannot do that without major pain in my ankles =>.<= as for 3d that is a whole different level of art. And you utilize it to the fullest. I never regret the day I added you to my "to commission" list =^.~= <3
Nothing serious, just too many hikes with 150 lbs of gear in the rocky desert mountains... ate all the cartillage in my ankles away. nearly bone on bone down there now. and recently just had 3 pins put in my shoulder because of a training accident. i wont go into detail with that one ill just say it involved a Humvee (HMMWV), about 5 seconds of air time, and a sudden stop with lots of forward momentum while in full gear (me minus the vehicle)
I always joke, "flying through the air was fun til i hit the ground)

also yeah I did watch her do the 3D model, I'd actually say it takes more skill because you need to have an extensive knowledge of anatomy to make an accurate 3D model and to pose it correctly. She didn't use any references, either.
I can easily just take a photo of myself or my boyfriend or find a reference for a pose/correct anatomy to draw from that ONE angle. She had to make the body accurate in the first place and then model it correctly (meaning she had to fix the anatomy any time she wanted to pose an arm or leg) so she also had to know how the muscles/skin would change shape depending on the way the limb/body was moved.
I appreciate that you may enjoy my work better than hers, but that's just an opinion. It doesn't mean mine is better than hers or hers is better than mine. So yeah perhaps please private message or word it differently as artists in general really don't like being compared to each other >.>
I personally put silverone up on a very tall pedestal. I really idolise her and her work, I think she's amazing as both an artist and a person. her skills with anatomy, lighting, posing, composition, colour theory and attention to detail and realism continue to amaze me with everything she does. She paints humans and fantasy creatures equally as amazing as anthros. She inspired me to get where I am today. You can pretty much thank her for why you enjoy my art so much, because 2-3 years ago my art was pretty crap in comparison to what it is now.
But despite my love and idolisation of her, I'm not going to publicly compare her to any other artist. Especially not specifically. I'm not trying to have a stab at you, I'm just hoping you understand why she may have been upset by that comment. If I did a painting for someone and they uploaded it and got a comment saying "oh that's a nice pic but I think you're a way better artist than Naira!" I'd be like "oh ok ._." and it would hurt a bit.
But I thank you for your continuing support of my work ^^

Yes I didn't think it was malicious, I know you're a nice person ^^ I just wanted to ensure you understood why your comment MAY upset some artists, and also just to anyone else who might read the set of comments as well. It was an innocent mistake and i'm not mad at you, and I did see you and silver having a good chat after resolving it ^^
I'm just making sure you/anyone else reading this understands how important an artists work is to them and honestly sometimes small comments like that can really crush an artist's spirit. Some people don't think of that when they comment with the intent of praising an artist they like. Artists really are their own worst critic, so they can sometimes be very easily upset over a tiny comment by just one person, even if that person had absolutely no intent of upsetting anyone at all.
I get a lot of comments comparing me to Rukis and I really don't like it. I mean yes I admire Rukis's work, I think she's an amazing artist and I do personally see her work as being better than mine, but while it might be flattering to have people say my art is "as good as" or "reminds them of" her work, it makes me worry that I'm accidentally copying her style somehow or like I don't have a unique style if so many people think of Rukis when they see my work. So while people probably think they're complimenting me when they say that, it can have an opposite effect without them realizing it XD

Stars at twilight night magic in mystical forest, how wonderful a sight. I do like her form and the fur texture in her however done looks great, all the night time cool colors, stars, and butterflies like peacock colors and swallowtail shape. The one last feature beyond beauty is that the artist put herself in the image a frog with its tongue hanging out.
