I made this icon for myself. I really wanted this to be an experiment with colors, layers, transparencies & minimal lighting detail. I saved it as a PNG which I forgot merges the layers. When re-sized down to 100x100 the text doesn't show up very well. Since I can't alter the text layer anymore without poking pixels forever & since it would feel empty not to have the caption I'll leave things the way they are. This took about 4 hours. I consider it a huge learning experience even though it didn't turn out to be a usable icon.
This was inspired from conversation with
oddisyn &
lodidah talking about me eating my ancestors when I was eating chicken. I'm not technically eating my ancestors because I'm a cat / witch & not actually a dinosaur. If I wanted her to eat cat or people I would have made a Chinese food or Soylent Green joke but I didn't want to go in that direction. I kept with the fried chicken idea because it's not healthy for you but tastes awesome & also I'm eating the ancestors of my favorite clade, Dinosauria. Also
lodidah 's current icon is a big old tongue so I had tongues on the brain.

I did not. I used Sumo Paint Bamboo 2.2. It came with my Wacom & I can't afford Photoshop. I looked into the Photoshop tutorial on stoke though & saw it mentioned "Layer Style" so went looking for that in Sumo. In the tool bar I found it under Layer > Layer Effects > Stoke... . I just played around with it in preview & yep that would have probably helped if I still had the layers separated. That's great advice though. I'm defiantly going to you that trick in a future icon. Thank you!
