The eye came out rather well, there is much life in it, and that's makes it wonderful, it is not just a simple Drawing. it makes to something special. I love the Iris effect which supports the impression of Life.
You mentioned it looks like flowing Magma, they might remind the earlier days of a Planet when overall was just flowing Lava/Magma, so it reminds on the gifts of today, which allow Life as we know it. I havn't maked such thoughs about it, but I think those eye suit a guardian of Life :)
