feels quite like the old Metal Hero series. It would be cool to see him partnering with Jiraiya (the badass red ninja from the series with the same name, not the lame master kame ripoff from naruto, mind you)

In all seriousness, it's more along the lines of Metal Hero shows http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Hero_Series which varied from pure kids entertainment shows to sort of "Miami Vice meets Robocop" shows for older audience.
