You guys, I am so disappointed with how the left Pika turned out. Perler began rolling out new packaging for their beads, and I think they've lowered the quality of the plastic too. Right Pika was made with entirely old-packaging beads, and he looks gorgeous.
Left Pika was made with old and new packaging. (Mostly the light yellow) It sunk into the design, melted into unsightly squares, and the colors were off and translucent.
I'm *not* happy.
I have a lot of cash sunk into Perler. They are usually very good, and I've never had a problem with them melting unevenly or anything remotely similar to what happened tonight. I'm disappointed.
I wrote them a letter to know what happened, and I'm crossing my fingers that it was just a bad batch. Some of you wrote to me asking what beads I used, etc, and I felt like I should say something about my experience before someone else dropped a lot of money on their beads like I did.
Hopefully they'll get back to me with more than just an automated response. I don't want my money back, but I won't say no to a replacement if it's just a fluke accident.
UPDATE 11/2013
Well it's been months upon months, and my replacement pack of beads never came from Perler. :( so much for giving a crap about its customers!
