I've always admired the look of field sketches made by naturalists back in the old days, so I decided to guess what a biologist might quickly take note of if he/she were to encounter a real gryphon out in the wild. The font was loosely based on late 18th/early 19th century texts, but don't worry if you can't read the writing -- it's mostly decorative.
The gryphon was drawn with charcoal and pastel (definitely not the easiest to work with!) and the writing is all with a Micron pen. The scanner chopped off a bit and rotated it kinda funny, but I'm too lazy to fix it.
The original sold at Kumoricon back in September, but prints are still available, just let me know if you're interested.
