On the origional Doak model 16, the ducts had baffles in them, that controled airflow to control roll. The turboshaft engine exhausts out the back, and is vectored verticaly and horizontaly, to control pitch, and rudder.
The V14 uses variable pitch blades in the ducted fans to induce roll, as well as to optimize airflow characteristics.
