Caves and Critters - Chap 04 Page 09
Thought I'd try and do some 'fancy' shading/lighting for this one... whaddya think? Better? Worse? Not bothered either way? XD
As much as anything it was a test to see if I could, and I'm certainly happy with the outcome, it just takes a bit longer :P

Maybe that's because I like to re-read comics I liked a lot. That's one of the remarks I've made when I joined the "adventure" : You have not tried to modify your style during the comic and that's a good point; One can reads it from the first to the last page without getting 'hu? It doesn't look the same?"
However, if you feel the need to try, to improve or what...
Would be my choice, I'd finish this comic before using another style. But if Caves and Critters is going to be huge, long, and etc... Maybe you can actually change your style in the way.
In any case, it is -your- choice, and probably other fans would disagree with me

Also, it seems that a recurrent game during war is counting the people you kill :-P
Even if it's orcas or shadows (which are not qualifiable as "people". Let's say opponent )
Some you keep in mind a number always increasing (if you're combative enough not to be killed the first minutes) and still can focuse on your arrows... That's a rather hard thing to do, under adrenaline xD

Style changes are inevitable for any artist, and whether those changes improve the overall look is largely a matter of opinion.
However, I would suggest that between chapters is probably the best opportunity to implement the more significant changes; that way, stopping to think about it doesn't interrupt the pace of a scene.

The technique looks good, imho. It works really well with the background elemets and with the flame effects. But it doesn't work with foreground elements all that well. it makes me think of South Park, for some reason.
I feel like this style would be more suited for a situation where someone would be either in a dream state or if thinking about the past/a memory.
