Yesterday I reached a big milestone on my YouTube account KIJANI'S LAIR (lionking300) with my 4,000th subscription to my page, which mostly features fursuiting videos from festivals, parades, other random outings and conventions.
I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you that has supported me for the last nearly 5 years (I started making fursuiting videos in 2008, after being similarly inspired by others) - anyone that has left a positive comment or sent me a message regarding my work. Fursuiting videos are what originally got me into the fandom and I'm honored to be able to give back
After the hundreds, maybe 1,000+ hours of work I've put in, I really only seek to show the great, positive things the furry fandom can offer, where we can put on costumes and make children and people of all ages smile and enjoy life a little more through fursuit character performance.
It's really touching how many people have contacted me online as well as at conventions and told me that they would never have found the fandom if not for my videos, that I inspired them to build a fursuit of their own and start spreading the "magic" and joining the fun, or simply thanking me for showing furry in a positive light.
It has brought me so much joy to do this and hopefully start changing the public's perception of who we are.
Finally I want to give a big shout out to two people:
dolphinecho and
chaosreign. They have taken a majority of the raw video when I'm out suiting, and done a fantastic job capturing the moments that make it into the final cut. Without them, and all the wonderful fursuiters that take part in our outings, this would not be possible.
Now, onto the big 5,000! I gotta plan something special when I hit that mark

Congratulations Kijani!
Now for my personal story :P
I joined the fandom last september and I quickly realized there was a potential to engage socially through the fandom. A few weeks later, I found out about your youtube account, which confirmed it. I absolutely love going out there with friends and do crowd animations / give hugs to strangers (although I let these things to fursuiters, being an handler :P). It's such an awesome hobby to be able to make people smile and laugh~
Thanks for doing this and keep up the great work!

I know :3 just going to give you my personal story. When in first saw fursuiting it was one of your videos, and in knew it was something i wanted to do! It was just finding the courage to do was difficult for me as I have some problems with self-esteem. But with my uncles untimely suicide it helped me to realise that life is too short be nervous or to hold yourself back! Fursuiting actually helped me through my depression! Seeing those smiles that I made gave me some form of accomplishment and it made me feel proud of myself. I had to get rid of my first suit for financial reasons if anything and I was really sad to see him go :( so I'm currently saving for another one which I should receive this year :D. I have you to thanks for introducing me to this amazing way of life. So thanks from the bottom of my heart
You may thank us but we thank you for what you do in the fandom! I've said it before and ill say it again. You are an inspiration to many of those out there who fursuit or those who want to get into fursuiting (such as myself). Keep doing what you do and you'll reach 5000 subs in no time. Thank you Kijani and congratulations! *hugs*
Four thousand subscribers is an auspicious milestone, and one that surely attests to a shared respect for what you and your friends have inspired. The world is always a little more bearable knowing that there are people who believe in spreading the powers of pawsitive actions. I hope that someday I too will get to suit in one of your videos.
Congrats to you Kijani and a big 'THANK YOU' right back to you! Your videos are an inspiration to fursuiters and suiters-to-be (and, as others have already posted too, the catalyst that started me on my own adventure into fursuiting) everywhere.
Thanks for taking the time to do, for making the effort to record your outings in the community (love the RiverFest vids especially...fursuiting there looks like so much fun!) and most especially for sharing your adventures with all of us!
We appreciate it (and you) very much!
