Wow isn't horrible; it's just time consuming. And when you level to a certain point, it gets boring.
Letting your account drop off for a bit is a good thing from time to time; they save it until you feel like playing again, so why not?
And going back is fine too; it's always fun at least SOME of the time. I've been playing off an on since it was released.
