Funny, that I easily imagined a simple swap in speed for defense making sense. Though I like to think a superior defense would assist on closing the gap on someone. Long range attacks aren't a threat to me with so much time between to prepare, so it will easily become CQC before long~ Also, like you, I could simply use the earth to propel myself forward, assisting with any speed issues ;)

Well Fire could boost speed so much more than earth. and it also allows me to change trajectory mid-air. Making it impossible for you to actually catch me.
Though, with me going high speeds, it would also aid in breaking through your defenses. But if I find fighting you to be a waste of time, I won't hesitate to leave. I have much better things to do. and it's not like you could possibly catch me.

Well the good thing is I don't think I really plan on trying to catch you =p If there was any sort of a fight to be had, I wouldn't have to worry about that XD And I wouldn't take confidence in the defense of myself plus the earth if I was worried about hgh-speed bears coming after me, bahaha! I am a great dodger for being a magic user. My defense is high only in the sense that hp is really high and hard to eliminate. Even when I'm about to give out, or am knocked dow, I get back up quickly. Attacks do damage, but I have a slow health regen.
However, my attacks are powerful and hit HARD. Your best recourse is to kill me quickly before I kill you.

His speed more than makes up for the defense. High speed stats are a double-edged sword. keeps you from getting hit as much and also causes some nasty critical dmg as well.
