Meet Zane, alternate avatar for
achilles ^.^ I may have took some liberties with the outfit, but I like the matching accessories, and I figured if I made the shorts black I'd have to add highlights of something bright. And I really would've liked to have drawn him in a weightlifter belt, but I just couldn't bring myself to do so because I was too happy how his abs were turning out Juggling two computers still sux; the scanning computer apparently has a brighter screen than this one, because this came out a bit over-corrected compared to the original markers. Oh well.
Contrary to what you might think, I'm really not a size queen. Probably my favorite build would be sorta the stripper/underwear model bodytype...muscular and ripped, but by most standards, not HYOOGE. I actually have considerable difficulty drawing extremely massive guys, and I'm not entirely sure why.
So Zane here was sort of an experiment to see just how far I could push the size of a character. I think I did okay...I'm no
Braford0005 but it came out muuuuuch better than I thought.

I love how the legs came out actually. I remember you saying before you didn't like making them properly portioned to avoid the whole 'hourglass' look. And of course the giant round calves are like your trademark for leg anatomy. <3
But I think what comes out best is the broadness overall...especially in the shoulders. They look like they're a head bigger then Cody's. > . >

I've kind of had the same situation, where people assume I only like muscle giants. ^_^; In reality, I draw them way huger than I normally look for in RL. I'm a fantasy artist, not a documentary photographer.
Anyway, you definitely did a great job here. :) Massive without looking outlandish. I especially like his big shoulders.

Wow. Zane's pretty big, and it won't be long before his creator is even bigger.
Ditching the belt was a good idea. It would be a crime to cover up abs like that. He's also got some decent legs.
Lack of interest in HYOOGE! guys explains why you have trouble drawing them, but it's always nice to see you work on stuff you aren't good at.

By that point, his options will be limited since the land-dwelling species will be too small.
It's hard to avoid noticing the legs when his hamstrings are huge and clearly visible from the front. Where do I sign up for a pair with that much girth?
You also realize the necessity of knowing how to draw girls. And some of us prefer your girls to the Dolly Parton look.

Hey Cody,
You did an awesome rendition of his alt character. You do massive size quite well for someone who doesn't draw it often. But, in your ISO comic, Cody and Doug are large characters and you do them quite well. So, you do have more practice than you thought :)
As you said, the tone and skin handling is great! Black always looks good on a huge character, if done well! And yeah, the color scheme you chose for the outfit is great! Red always contrasts well with black!
The only suggestion I can offer is to make his waist a bit thicker (or wider) to match the rest of his bulk; unless that's what achilles wanted. Right now, to me, the waist seems more fit for the type you usually draw. :)
But still, awesomely done, don't get me wrong! I really love it!
