It may be a little late, but at least it's here. This page was a challenge for me in two ways.

First off, I finally decided to really push my background into "pleasing shapes" instead of concrete objects. I tried to blend the colors and use the pencils in such a way that I achieved some simple stony textures, but I really tried to push the dark-shapes and shadows toward points of interest, and keep the head of the main character Rod mostly in highlights and light-shapes to easily identify her.

Second, I decided to keep going with using the Xzeejee Language for the dialogue of these two new characters but instead of using the computer-drawn characters and meticulously copy-pasting each one into the text bubble I simply wrote the dialogue in the language and the script in a sketchbook, scanned it, and pasted it in. Much easier.

Also, SCAPULA HOW DO? I referenced myself quite a few times, but I sill couldn't quite get the twist of the arms right, or the way that the scapula (what's the plural? scapulas? scapulea?) tend to push up off the back. Urg. I will get this with much practice.

For those interested, the script roughly translates to this;
WOMAN IN CLOAK: "No use struggling."
Rod: Who are you? What are you doing here?
WOMAN IN CLOAK: "What's she saying?"
LITTLE GUY: "She speaks the ancient language."
WOMAN IN CLOAK: "Can you translate?"
LITTLE GUY: "I'll try..."
