Thanks. It's for a portfolio in which the dominant color has to be blue, so the atmosphere was sort of unavoidable. ;)

I like her. Nice colors and expression.

I struggled with that expression because I didn't want her to look sad, just sort of wistful.

Oh VERY nice! While I enjoy the backgrounds of your work, the lack of one in this piece really gives it a very moody feel. Well done.

It was partly due to laziness and partly due to a deadline, heh, but in a couple of my pieces, I like to leave the setting up to the viewer's imagination. In the sketch stage, someone suggested that I put a hat at her feet with some change in it, but I honestly didn't see her as a panhandler of any kind (and I actually already drew a similar image a few years ago), so I left all those trappings out.
