This is me revisiting my MMORPG idea: Animalia. I wanted to unify it's setting somewhat and decided on keeping everything ancinent-world style since it's centered around a Roman-based world empire.

In fact when Animalia is created I want it to be a defining example of a little-covered concept called "sandal-punk" ...or steampunk with a pre-medieval theme. As an example, some works with elements of sandal-punk you might be familiar with would be the games like God of War, Shadows of Collossos, and Prince of Persia.... and movies like 300, Disney's Hercules, The Mummy series, and Stargate.

This particular scene drawing kind of exemplifies where I'm going with this, in particular showing some of the slightly advanced and developed technology in the Animalia world (still heavily involed in magic and sorcery mind you). These unusual devices is my own spin on the Archimedes "Death Ray" (any Myth-buster fans out there?). These burning glasses come equipted with lenses as well as mirrors and are set up as a sort of battery against enemy ships. The devices are also moved using steam power.
