So this is only the second fursuit I've ever made and I'm very impressed and happy with how it all turned out! I went slower this time and tried to add the more professional touches that dash tiger lacked.
This is my first time wearing the whole suit. Very hot >.< I'd forgotten what suiting was like! Soooo first problem arose. Cameras do not like this colour combination, no sir! Half the photos were wacky bright red.

Depends on what your definition of 'hard' is. Are you willing to put in the time, money, research, and effort it takes to learn what you're doing before you start, make mistakes that often make you have to rip apart and recreate something several times, and the time and patience to make sure it is done well?
*this*
time - expect 100-150 hours not including all the travelling for materials
money - as i said below but around 300$USD and dont skimp on the fur, for the love of god, dont buy cheap fur. 20$ a yard is a minimum.
research - Matrices tutorials arent the best way to make a fursuit in my very humble opinion but they are probably the most useful guide to making suits that I read. Otherwise livejournal has amazing advice.
effort - its so damned tempting to rush things, sew with big gaps, only sew once through, skip steps etc. you need to be dedicated to producing a quality suit! Also prepare to have a room so messy u can hardly live in it for a few months. Fur will be EVERYWHERE as its unlikely u have your own workshop!

It's not a difficult skill per se - as in, its not something your just born with, like good balance or athelticism or maths etc. but it does require a few qualities that some people have difficulty with - i.e. patience (and a little perfectionism) ! My first suit took 2 months to build and while it came out pretty good, I still felt like it wasnt good enough. This suit took three weeks ( plus a week screwing about) full time working on it, and I'm proud to wear it. But you have to go slow, you have to read, read and read guides, you have to figure things out and not give up - find the best solution and dont just settle for any solution etc.
I honestly think anyone can do it. Sewing isnt hard. A five year old can use glue and cut patterns. But you need some serious dedication. This suit was painful to make, I dont think ill make anymore. It's a good project that will bring you a lot of satisfaction, but expect to spend around 300 USD or 250 pounds on materials on something u may not even like!
It also helps a lot to have freinds who have some experience!

Thanks a lot!
Fur was 135$ including shipping. Foam was 80$. Sundries (glue, tape, felt, scissors, knife) was about 40$, pads and nose and claws were 50$ inc shipping. Fuel was about 30$ driving back and forth from the crafts store!
In terms of tools, Mangusu already had a good sewing machine, but more and more I feel that hand-sewing everything but the long straight seems down the legs, arms and chest, is superior, so u dont need one. I did spend 60$ on clippers decent enough to cut the fur - this was nessecary as the human clippers we had were poor, u need dog clippers!
