“Yes, Keldeo?”
“What’s this whole thing about a tournament and us choosing representatives and stuff?”
“We are to compete to see who is strongest under Arceus. For that, we must choose mortal representatives to fight for us.”
“Oh… does that mean me too?”
“Yes. You would be too young otherwise but, in order to forge a lasting peace between the legendaries, a strong leader must be chosen since Arceus does not allow himself to intervene. This means one of the Swords of Justice must be the victor.”
“Ooooh, okay! Don’t worry I’ll win this whole thing for us!!”
“… your eagerness is… refreshing as usual. But, this may be a bit much for you. Please leave us handle most of it.”
“Fiiiiine… oh! Cobalion?”
“Yes?”
“What would make a good representative?”
“……….”

“Hey! Wake up already! Wakey wakey!”
Toni yawned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, she’d just laid down to go to sleep, what could be bothering her now? The diapered Gothita looked around for a moment, seeing if her brother or the professor was there… but her room seemed just as empty as before. “Heeeeeey!” the voice called again, definitely close and definitely male… young sounding too. It was then Toni finally turned her eyes down and saw the small figure all but prancing on her bed to try and get her attention.
It was a plush toy sized, chibi version of Keldeo… a legendary pokemon Toni knew quite well since it was represented by a major character of the Petite Poke Pony figures and toys she collected alongside Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. “Finally! I thought you’d never look down here! I want you to h-HEY!!” the little legendary started talking but squeaked in surprise as Toni picked him up, turning him over in her hands even as he kicked and struggled “Papa’s robots sure are getting advanced…” Toni said as she looked for joints or a control panel “Their AI’s must be too, you sound so real… and look at you squirm and struggle too!” she praised watching what she thought was a robot try to break free of her grip.
“PUT ME DOWN!!”
SPLOOOSH!!!
Toni shrieked as water shot from Keldeo’s hooves soaking her and making the psychic type drop the little legendary. As Toni sputtered Keldeo kicked his legs to shake off the excess water and snorted “Believe I’m real NOW?” he asked in an annoyed tone. Toni stared in shock as she tried to contemplate what had just happened. There was no way that much condensed water could fit into a robot that small, not to mentioned the delivery system needed to pressurize and shoot it out of the hooves… which could mean only one possible explanation… it was real!? She stared gap jawed at the little legendary as he smiled and giggled, former annoyance forgotten, as he bounced in place and began talking in an eager, fast pace.
"Toni, can I call you Toni? Sounds more fun than Marie Antoinette and your friends call you it and I wanna be your friend! Oh! Anyway Cobalion said I need to pick somebody to fight for me in this big thing against the other legendaries and since you've got all the stuff with me on it I thought YOU'D be perfect!" he bounded up to stand just about on her chest looking up at her eagerly. "So will you do it? Pleeeease? You'll get a cool costume and all sorts of powers too! It’ll be really fun! I think… please?”
Still dumbstruck by the fact a tiny, talking, REAL legendary pokemon was all but standing in her lap Toni nodded numbly, not really having understood half of what the little motor mouthed pony had said. “Great! Lets GO!” Keldeo chirped hoping up and bumping noses with Toni as the world vanished in a flash of light for the toddler-like girl.

Toni blinked in utter confusion as she found herself standing in a lush green park under lifeless grey skies, tall buildings in the distance telling her she was in a city. She staggered a little… and realized she was no longer in her nightgown… and somehow gained what looked like a toy lance about half her height. She looked it over for a moment, wondering why the colors were familiar to her, till she noticed the dark blue gloves on her hands. Her curiosity at its height she quickly waddled over to the nearby placid pond and stared into its mirror like surface to see what she was wearing.
Toni’s eyes lit up like stars as she saw she was wearing a keldeo inspired musketeer outfit. The little musketeer coat thing all the way to the big fancy hat all done up in Keldeo’s colors. Suddenly the toy-like legendary stuck his head out of the large red plum on Toni’s hat and grinned “Told you you’d get a cool costume!” he squeaked proudly as Toni giggled like a five year old and started to gush about the outfit… till her eyes drifted down and focused on the one bit mood-breaker of the costume.
“Why can everybody see my diaper!?”
“Huh?”
Keldeo gave a confused look in response to Toni’s protest as the girl looked at the thick, light blue cloth diaper pinned on her waist. Used to disposable diapers this one struck her as being much softer but also a lot thicker… and more importantly in clear view for all the world to see. “B-b-but…” Keldeo stuttered, the tiny legendary obviously perplexed by this “It’s not supposed to be?” he asked in the same tone of a kid who doesn’t understand what he did wrong. Puffing her cheeks out in a pout Toni stomped her foot lightly “Of course not! I don’t want other people to see it and think I’m a baby!” she shouted, getting a further confused look from Keldeo as he responded.
“You’re not?”
“NO I’M NOT!! I’M FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!!”
“Years? Is that how mortals measure age?”
“YES!! … wait… how do YOU measure age?”
“Um… we just kinda go by who’s been around the longest… most of the other legendaries still call me a baby even though I tell them not to…” Keldeo hung his head and blushed at this for a moment before suddenly perking right back up “Anyway! Lets try out your new powers and then we can go fight somebody!” he cheered and grinned… before noticing Toni fidgeting nervously “What’s wrong?”
“I’m… not that good a fighter…” Toni admitted, blushing and looking down slightly ashamed. Keldeo just tilted his head at that before giving a big smile and hopping off the hat, repelling off the sword, and ending up on Toni’s shoulder “Nooo problem! I can help you! You’re sharing my powers now after all!” he said eagerly, nuzzling Toni’s cheek “Go on, try to leap over the lake!” he urged, making Toni look at him as if he’d lost his mind “Are you serious? I’d end up jumping right into it!” she protested as Keldeo just grinned “Pleeeease try it? Trust me on this okay!” he said making the gothita sigh and pout again “Fine… but if I end up soaked I’m going to be soooo mad…” she fumed as she reluctantly jumped…
And suddenly the wind whipped past Toni as she was flying.
The little psychic went wide eyed as the pond zipped past underneath her as the jump carried her clear over it as if she’d been shot out of a cannon. “See! I told you!” Keldeo called, laughing eagerly as Toni was still too surprised to respond… till she saw they’d overshot the opposite shore of the pond by a good ways and were about to crash into the trees as she let out a frightened squeak. “Don’t panic! Fears your enemy! Just start running! You’ve trusted me so far right?” Keldeo cheered from his perch on her shoulder, a joyful and innocent grin on his face. Despite expect to go crashing through the branches Toni did what he said and began pumping her feet in a frantic waddle/run as the moment of the crash drew closer….
And never happened, Toni went wide eyed again as she felt her feet just lightly brushing and pushing off against something. It wasn’t till she looked down that she could honestly believe what was happening. She was running across the tops of the trees! “Wooooooooooooooo!” she squealed, her brain not managing to put together anything more complex to say from the shock of the situation. “I’m giving you all my power! All 100%!” Keldeo cheered, obviously enjoying the ride “So we’re strong together and we can do all sorts of things! Come on! Come on! Let’s see how fast you can go!” he urged happily.
Feeling a sudden rush of power unlike anything she’d ever felt Toni grinned and giggled as she dashed across the treetops leaping off of them and bouncing off a nearby statue to resume dashing across the tree tops as she jumped from tree to tree with speed and agility she was pretty sure should be impossible with her stubby legs and her waddle. She couldn’t help but giggle as she turned on a dime, picking up even more speed as she flew through the park spotting a playground out of the corner of her eye. Getting a crazy idea she launched herself towards it and vaulted over the slide (not even caring that the flip she threw in made her dress flair out and show off her diaper), grabbed and spun on the merry-go-round before leaping off, and finally grabbed hold of the swing and using it to launch her high into the air as she let out a high spirited.
“Wheeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeheeheeeeeee!!”
“Look!!”
“Huh?” still high in the air Toni turned her gaze towards where Keldeo was pointing with his horn. There was an odd, large moving red dot on the outskirts of the park. She couldn’t make out what it was but Keldeo seemed to be able to “It’s Groudon’s chosen! Come on come on! Lets go get em! Lets go go go!” he cheered eagerly and after the adrenalin rush of her new powers Toni was more than certain they could take them. Grinning she flipped in the air once before landing and dashing off across the tree tops immediately in the direction she’d seen the figure. Slowly two voices could be heard, a deep gravely one and a deep female one.
“How the heck am I supposed to use these powers again?”
“I TOLD you already how to use em!! And don’t show em off without needing em! It draws attention and makes you a target!”
“Oh EXCUSE me for not being able to make out those ugly sounding growls of yours!”
“Don’t make me regret selecting you to fight for me!”
“Too late I already regret agreeing!!”
Toni skidded to a halt on the outskirts of the park, surprising the arguing duo. It turned out to be a stout excadrill lady who looked about 19 or so. She had a chubby figure and large breasts accented by the tight fitting red and black outfit she was wearing covered with white spikes. A toy-like Groudon sat on her shoulder, and both of them had a surprised look on their faces as Toni landed in front of them. “A toddler!?” the lady asked, sounding dumbfounded as she looked at Toni while Groudon growled as he looked eyes on the little legendary on Toni’s shoulder “Keldeo!!”
“Get em Toni!!”
“Okay!”
Toni didn’t need any further prodding from her partner as she dashed forward “And I’m NOT A TODDLER!!” she shouted as she began jabbing her lance at the excadrill fast enough to make a beedrill jealous. The girl staggered back flailing her claws to try and defend herself even if the jabs that hit didn’t seem to do any damage. Finally she tumbled onto her butt and rolled out of the way to avoid Toni’s lunging jab. Climbing back to her feet the ground type staggered as Groudon roared “Use it now!! Stomp your foot and destroy em!!”
“That a crack about my weight!?”
“SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT FOR ONCE AND JUST DO IT!!!”
“FINE! EARTHQUAKE!!!” the excadrill shouted, starting to stomp her feet and cratering the ground underneath her while making everything else shake. “J-j-jump f-for i-i-it!!” Keldeo stuttered as Toni bounced up and down on her bottom, thick diaper cushioning her a little, before managing to kick off the ground and get an unsteady jump into the air. “Keep moving!” Keldeo coached as Toni’s shoes lightly touched the shaking ground and kicked off again before she could be knocked back on her rear.
“Do we go after them hair clipper?” the excadrill asked, stopping her stomping for a moment as Groudon snorted “I told you not to call me that MOLE! And heck no, we ain’t fighting them here. Not with all these trees to give em cover! Find someplace more open!” he snarled as the girl started running towards the city proper, snarking back at her partner “You look like a hair clipper, I’m calling you one! And running away from a toddler? THIS is what the big bad Groudon suggests?” she asked, smirking as the legendary on her shoulder spat a plume of flame in anger at that.
“IF I WAS MYSELF I’D STEP ON THEM! BUT I’M HAVING TO FIGHT WITH YOU SO SHUT IT!! AND THAT TODDLER JUST KNOCKED YOU ON YOUR ASS DIDN’T SHE!?”
“I’ll do it again too!”
Both the excadrill girl and Groudon looked up and went “Huh!?” together as Toni tore out of the woods, having cut a U turn the moment the quaking stopped and easily caught up with them. Before the larger girl could start stomping again Toni was on her with a barrage of jabs and slashes, sending the excadrill staggering and stumbling back as she waved her claws trying to fend Toni off. The gothita girl was on a pure power rush at this point. Still struggling to learn her basic moves back home, she’d never actually been in a match before that she was actually a contender in much less winning.
“Stop dodging! These won’t scratch you! Just attack em!!” Groudon roared as the excadrill growled back “Shut up hair clipper they still hurt!!” but started swinging her long sharp claws at Toni, forcing the gothita to jump back. Seeing an opening the ground type lifted her foot to use her move again “EARTHQUAAAAA!!!” she squawked as Toni lunged forward and jabbed at the girls other leg, forcing her to jump back to keep from falling over as Toni once again took control of the fight, this time aiming her attacks at the girls feet and legs to force her to awkwardly dance out of the way.
“Let's finish her off with a patron move!” Keldeo cheered making Toni trip a little in responce “P-patron move? What the heck is that!?” she asked, trying to keep her frenetic attacking pace up even as she talked. “It’s a move we both can use that I can power up! Like… wait… you can’t learn any sword moves can you? Um… how about… no you can’t learn that one either… Ooo! Ooo! How about… darn it that one won’t work either!” Keldeo mumbled to himself as his face was screwed up in thought and only the fight she was in kept Toni from groaning in frustration at this.
“Okay! I got it! Use Return!”
“Return? But I don’t know how to use that!”
“Just shout the name and attack them!”
“But that’s stupid! Why would that work!?”
“Just do it!!”
“Fine! RETURN!!!” Toni shouted as she swung her lance at her opponents who were still struggling to recover. Her eyes widened as she saw the energy crackling around the weapon, fueled by her emotional rush and high, and turn it into an instrument of destruction. She also saw it strike home HARD into her opponents and sent them hurtling through the air. Due to over swinging and knocking herself on her butt though Toni DIDN’T see the huge gash she torn almost clean through the two as they flew through the air… just enough life left in them for a few last words.
“Hair Clipper… Groudon… sorry…”
“… sorry I got you into this… Evana…”
SPLAAAASH!!!
The two crashed down hard into the pond sinking into the waters as Toni struggled to get to her feet. Taking a few toddling steps and then looking off into the distance her opponents had vanished into Toni stood there from a moment silently. “I WON! YES! YES! YEEEES!!” she cheered, jumping up and down in place for a moment, Keldeo cheering right along with her “Lets go find somebody else to fight! I bet we can win this!” he called eagerly as Toni nodded in agreement and took a running leap into the city.

“Did you see that! We beat them good! Let us go find another duo to fight!”
“Yeah! See Toni? I told you this’d be fun!”
“This is AMAZING!!”
After being used to her diaper induced waddle for so long being able to dash through the streets and leap from building to building like… well… like a member of the Swords of Justice was liberating to say the least. She couldn’t restrain a giggle as she stole a glance at Keldeo riding on her shoulder, the biggest grin was on the pony’s face as his mane and tail whipped in the wind as she flew through the air. “Think we will win?” she asked him, grinning just as much as he was. Keldeo giggled and nodded eagerly in response “Yeah! I’d like to see who could stop us!!”
A sudden explosion nearby made Toni skid to a stop as she could hear the sound of a high stakes battle going on. Grinning she dashed down the nearest alleyway trying to find the fight so she could get in on it. “Who do you think is fighting?” she asked Keldeo as she dashed through the disturbingly clean (confirming the whole city was just a recreation) alley. “I dunno…” Keldeo said, a confused look on his face “It feels like… um… I think one of them’s Victini.” He giggles grinning “He’s fun to be around… the other one… it’s…” the pony shivered a little and lowered his head “… it scares me so that must mean it’s him…” he said with a slight whimper, making Toni skid to a stop just before she emerged from the shadows of the alley into the street.
“Him? Who is him?”
Suddenly a small furry body flying past them hard enough to crater the streets snapped Toni’s attention forward. Looking she could see it was a badly bruised young growlithe girl, probably 10 to 12 years old (and still taller than her), wearing a Victini themed costume that seemed to be based on a raver outfit. Behind the blue bubble goggles she was wearing her eyes were filled with pain and fear. An equally fightened looking toy-like Victini clung to her shoulder. Toni wondered what could have beatn them so badly… but then she saw HER.
It was a tall, ethereally beautiful gardevoir girl, looking about 18 or so. She was unusually pale and fragile looking even for her species, almost to the point of being slightly sickly. Her ankle length green hair billowed behind her as she slowly levitated herself to the ground. The frailty she seemed to have was balanced out by the cold, emotionless, almost cruel, and certainly dangerous look in her eyes. She was wearing an intimidating light and dark purple costume complete with a pair of horn like cat ears held on her head by a hair band. As if just to confirm who she’d partnered with Toni recognized the tiny, cold eyed legendary sitting on the girl's shoulder and said its name in a hushed whisper.
“Mewtwo…”
The Growlithe girl let out a scared sound whimper as she struggled to drag herself backwards out of the crater, her whole battered body shaking with fear. Toni’s pupils shrunk as she felt the air pressure change due to an ungodly amount of psychic energy being built up all centered on the Gardevoir girl. She slowly lifted an arm up, her hand hanging limp at the wrist, and pointed it at the Victini representative. Before the girl could scream the gardevoir’s hand snapped up and a single word escape her lips “Psychic.”.
There was a hum in the air as the growlithe and Victini glowed for a moment… then exploded into red residue and gore leaving nothing else behind. Toni went wide eyed as her pupils shrunk more as the few liquefied remains splashed down on the streets and walls. Mewtwo shifted from his spot lounging on the gradevoir’s shoulder and dryly commented “A little too much force there Venus, it didn’t have to be that… messy.” But his words were lost to both his representative, who didn’t register them and didn’t seem fazed by what she’d done in the slightest, as well as Toni who doubled over and threw up at what she’d just seen.
Toni’s whole body shook and her vision swam as she slowly looked up… and realized the gardevoir’s expressionless red eyes were locked solidly on her. She let out terrified squeaks as she frantically tried to breath and her body’s flight or fight response kicked in as she hurled herself blindly back down the alley, tears streaming down her cheeks. From her shoulder Keldeo was clinging to her tight, crying as well, and motor mouthing a mile a minute in shock and panic "T-t-t-thatwasn'tsupposedtahappenWhy'dthathappenTheydidn'ttellmethistheydidn'ttellmethisTHEYDIDN'TTELLMETHIS!!!" he babbled, repeating it over and over.
Watching Toni hurl herself down the alleyway, Venus turned to follow her only for Mewtwo to speak up “Forget about her for now, we already killed one kid today and that’s already too much for my tastes. Besides, Keldeo is the least of our worries. Save your strength for more dangerous opponents.” He commented making Venus finally acknowledge him as she said matter-of-factly “She’ll die in the end child or not, why not do it now?” making Mewtwo snort and glare at her “Cause I said so… now go clean yourself up. You’ve got a little of your last opponent on you.

Toni ran blindly through the alleyways, her enhanced speed and the fact she was struggling not to throw up again making the world blur around her. Keldeo seemed to have lost it and was shaking as he kept mumbling to himself so he wasn’t providing her with any direction help either. Finally she tripped and tumbled to a hard stop onto the street… where another fight was going on. Looking up through her tear stained eyes Toni could see a gurdurr girl wearing a barbarian like Regirock costume standing over her, a larger than normal metal I beam clutched in her hands and a little regirock on her head.
“What tha hell?” the girl grunted looking at the apparent toddler at her feet before snorting and, instead of attacking like Toni expected, turned away from her and grunted “Whatever! This is for Registeel!! Stone Edge!!!” suddenly several rings of energy appeared circling around the gurdurr before they turned into rings of jagged grey stones… but unlike normal Stone Edge attacks instead of all firing at once and vanishing the stones started to shoot out machine gun style at whatever the girl was aiming at showing no signs of running out anytime soon.
Toni blinked weakly trying to see what the girl was shooting at but the figure was moving too quickly as the gurdurr girl growled and frantically chased after it with her attack shooting a waving line in the buildings around her. A voice echoed in the air that Toni could swear she recognize “SHADOW CLAW!!” as they mysterious figure suddenly dashed forward, tearing through the ring of stones AND the gurdurr girl with darkness covered claws as the fighting types screams echoed in Toni’s ears…
But worse was that she could clearly see the mysterious figure now and easily recognized her from school and her visits to Petie’s house. Rose looked down at her with tear stained eyes as Toni threw up once more and mercifully passed out, her mind finally too overwhelmed to take it all.

“WHY are you wasting time like this!?”
“I couldn’t leave her there! Someone might kill her!”
“YOU should be the one killing her!”
“NO!”
“Why not? You didn’t show the same mercy to the regirock girl now did you~?”
“B-but… I know her…”
“You also know your baby brother~ Shall I kill him to get you to listen you me~?”
“You already told me you CAN’T remember? You’re a blabbermouth for somebody who thinks so highly of himself.”
“DAMN THAT NO LYING RULE!!! Well I can still zap him good if you test me so FORGET the brat and go hunt down Dialga and Palkia! Okay~?”
It was this utterly bizarre conversation Toni slowly regained consciousness to. The soft smell of baby powder and the sound of Rose’s voice made her think she’d dozed off in Petie’s room back at his house and what she’d seen had just been a horrible, horrible nightmare… till she heard the soft whimpering coming from the weight on her shoulder and Keldeo whispered “T-Toni, who are these people? The kangaskhan knows your name…” in her ears bringing the fact she was in a fight to the death and had already killed somebody crashing down around Toni’s ears.
“AAAAAAAHHHHHH!”
A scream of blind panic escaped her as she scrambled to her feet, or at least tried to as she stumbled and crawled towards the nearest door not even paying attention to where she was. “H-hey!!” Keldeo squeaked, getting knocked off her shoulder in her blind rush “W-wait for me!” he called, Toni not even hearing him as she hit the hall and ducked into the nearest hiding place she could find. Which turned out to be an apparently empty cupboard as Toni ducked into it and pulled the door shut letting the darkness calm her frayed nerves even as she could hear Keldeo pawing at the door with his hooves.
“Oh GREAT! First the brat pukes all over us now THIS garbage…”
“Shut UP Giratina.”
Toni recognized Rose’s voice along with the voice she’d been arguing with before as she heard their footsteps coming closer. She was barely calm enough to realize Giratina was the legendary Rose must be working with. “D-d-don’t come any closer!” she heard Keldeo stutter, the soft pitter-patter of his hooves meaning he must have turned to face Rose “I-if you try to hurt Toni I’ll… I’ll…!” he said, training off as Giratina broke out laughing. The sound made Toni wince but not as much as when she heard him start monologuing.
“Or you’ll do WHAT little one~? Spray some water on us~? Get your representative to puke up so more~? Ooooh, oooh! Or better yet you can ask her to wet herself and see if THAT intimidates us~”
“Y-you shut up!”
“You sure know how to pick a champion, of course since you are the BABY of the legendaries I suppose she does suit you~”
“S-shut up!”
“And what if I don’t~?”
“Giratina, SHUT UP.”
It was Rose talking again as Toni could hear the wooden floor creak under the khan’s weight as she must have crouched down “Toni? Can you hear me?” the Khan asked as Toni just whimpered in response. Suddenly Giratina’s voice cut in again “Oh just leave the brat! I want you to get back to hunting down Palkia and Dialga! Or do I have to zappity-zap Petie again~?” he asked as the teddiursa’s name set off alarm bells in Toni’s head. She’d thought she’d just been hearing things when they’d mentioned it earlier but what did this thing just say about him…?
Kicking open the cupboard door, and nearly sending Keldeo flying, Toni looked around “Who just threatened Petie?” she demanded, her eyes wide with a mixture of nerves, terror, and fury. She saw a teary eyed Rose biting her lip followed by a tiny Giratina floating a few feet off the ground and eyeing her with a smug grin on its face “That’d be me little one~ What of it?” it said with a sneer… before shooting up into the air to avoid Toni as she made lunge for it with her sword ending up landing in Rose’s arms. Giratina floated high over them and laughed before resuming gloating.
“I needed a strong fighter for my scheme and Rosie here was the only one I could find on short notice... but she was too much of a goodie two shoes to ever willingly join this kind of fight and that STUPID no lying clause kept me from tricking her... so I went with plan B~ Now her precious baby brother's tied to her magical powers and she HAS to fight since if she loses he dies too~"
Just the way the small creature CROWED about this made Toni sick to her stomach and furious as Keldeo kept trying to leap high enough to get at Giratina shouting about how twisted, low-down, and dishonorable the stunt was. Toni clenched her teeth as she felt fresh tears dripping down her cheeks “Rose?” she asked looking up to the kangaskhan “How do we save Petie?” The kangaskhan shut her eyes and seemed to be holding back tears at that question before she finally hugged Toni.
“I have to go out hunting for those two legendaries again or this little… monster here will hurt Petie. Watch him and make sure nobody comes in here and finds him while I’m gone okay? He’s in the room at the end of the hall.”
With that she set Toni down and headed down the hall, Giratina floating after her and telling her to only fight the other legendaries if she’s attacked and to otherwise avoid confronting them till she finds Dialga and Palkia, leaving Toni alone with Keldeo. The little pony legendary trotted nervously to Toni’s side before asking “Toni? Who’s this Petie?”. She didn’t say anything as she turned and waddled to the room Rose had pointed out slowly pushing open the door and finally taking a look at it. The cribs, wall paper, and smell all told her it was a nursery… but what held her attention was the orb floating two feet off the floor.
Slowly going over to it she pressed her hands against the glass like structure and turning it until she could see the pale, dead or asleep teddiursa laying in the cradle trapped inside it. Keldeo pawed at her leg to try and get her attention “Toni?” he called again but all she responded with was a broken sounding “Him…” before leaning against the orb and breaking down crying.

Brave Little Sword in a Big Scary World“Cobalion? Hey Cobalion!”
“Yes, Keldeo?”
“What’s this whole thing about a tournament and us choosing representatives and stuff?”
“We are to compete to see who is strongest under Arceus. For that, we must choose mortal representatives to fight for us.”
“Oh… does that mean me too?”
“Yes. You would be too young otherwise but, in order to forge a lasting peace between the legendaries, a strong leader must be chosen since Arceus does not allow himself to intervene. This means one of the Swords of Justice must be the victor.”
“Ooooh, okay! Don’t worry I’ll win this whole thing for us!!”
“… your eagerness is… refreshing as usual. But, this may be a bit much for you. Please leave us handle most of it.”
“Fiiiiine… oh! Cobalion?”
“Yes?”
“What would make a good representative?”

“Hey! Wake up already! Wakey wakey!”
Toni yawned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes, she’d just laid down to go to sleep, what could be bothering her now? The diapered Gothita looked around for a moment, seeing if her brother or the professor was there… but her room seemed just as empty as before. “Heeeeeey!” the voice called again, definitely close and definitely male… young sounding too. It was then Toni finally turned her eyes down and saw the small figure all but prancing on her bed to try and get her attention.
It was a plush toy sized, chibi version of Keldeo… a legendary pokemon Toni knew quite well since it was represented by a major character of the Petite Poke Pony figures and toys she collected alongside Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. “Finally! I thought you’d never look down here! I want you to h-HEY!!” the little legendary started talking but squeaked in surprise as Toni picked him up, turning him over in her hands even as he kicked and struggled “Papa’s robots sure are getting advanced…” Toni said as she looked for joints or a control panel “Their AI’s must be too, you sound so real… and look at you squirm and struggle too!” she praised watching what she thought was a robot try to break free of her grip.
“PUT ME DOWN!!”
SPLOOOSH!!!
Toni shrieked as water shot from Keldeo’s hooves soaking her and making the psychic type drop the little legendary. As Toni sputtered Keldeo kicked his legs to shake off the excess water and snorted “Believe I’m real NOW?” he asked in an annoyed tone. Toni stared in shock as she tried to contemplate what had just happened. There was no way that much condensed water could fit into a robot that small, not to mentioned the delivery system needed to pressurize and shoot it out of the hooves… which could mean only one possible explanation… it was real!? She stared gap jawed at the little legendary as he smiled and giggled, former annoyance forgotten, as he bounced in place and began talking in an eager, fast pace.
"Toni, can I call you Toni? Sounds more fun than Marie Antoinette and your friends call you it and I wanna be your friend! Oh! Anyway Cobalion said I need to pick somebody to fight for me in this big thing against the other legendaries and since you've got all the stuff with me on it I thought YOU'D be perfect!" he bounded up to stand just about on her chest looking up at her eagerly. "So will you do it? Pleeeease? You'll get a cool costume and all sorts of powers too! It’ll be really fun! I think… please?”
Still dumbstruck by the fact a tiny, talking, REAL legendary pokemon was all but standing in her lap Toni nodded numbly, not really having understood half of what the little motor mouthed pony had said. “Great! Lets GO!” Keldeo chirped hoping up and bumping noses with Toni as the world vanished in a flash of light for the toddler-like girl.

Toni blinked in utter confusion as she found herself standing in a lush green park under lifeless grey skies, tall buildings in the distance telling her she was in a city. She staggered a little… and realized she was no longer in her nightgown… and somehow gained what looked like a toy lance about half her height. She looked it over for a moment, wondering why the colors were familiar to her, till she noticed the dark blue gloves on her hands. Her curiosity at its height she quickly waddled over to the nearby placid pond and stared into its mirror like surface to see what she was wearing.
Toni’s eyes lit up like stars as she saw she was wearing a keldeo inspired musketeer outfit. The little musketeer coat thing all the way to the big fancy hat all done up in Keldeo’s colors. Suddenly the toy-like legendary stuck his head out of the large red plum on Toni’s hat and grinned “Told you you’d get a cool costume!” he squeaked proudly as Toni giggled like a five year old and started to gush about the outfit… till her eyes drifted down and focused on the one bit mood-breaker of the costume.
“Why can everybody see my diaper!?”
“Huh?”
Keldeo gave a confused look in response to Toni’s protest as the girl looked at the thick, light blue cloth diaper pinned on her waist. Used to disposable diapers this one struck her as being much softer but also a lot thicker… and more importantly in clear view for all the world to see. “B-b-but…” Keldeo stuttered, the tiny legendary obviously perplexed by this “It’s not supposed to be?” he asked in the same tone of a kid who doesn’t understand what he did wrong. Puffing her cheeks out in a pout Toni stomped her foot lightly “Of course not! I don’t want other people to see it and think I’m a baby!” she shouted, getting a further confused look from Keldeo as he responded.
“You’re not?”
“NO I’M NOT!! I’M FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!!”
“Years? Is that how mortals measure age?”
“YES!! … wait… how do YOU measure age?”
“Um… we just kinda go by who’s been around the longest… most of the other legendaries still call me a baby even though I tell them not to…” Keldeo hung his head and blushed at this for a moment before suddenly perking right back up “Anyway! Lets try out your new powers and then we can go fight somebody!” he cheered and grinned… before noticing Toni fidgeting nervously “What’s wrong?”
“I’m… not that good a fighter…” Toni admitted, blushing and looking down slightly ashamed. Keldeo just tilted his head at that before giving a big smile and hopping off the hat, repelling off the sword, and ending up on Toni’s shoulder “Nooo problem! I can help you! You’re sharing my powers now after all!” he said eagerly, nuzzling Toni’s cheek “Go on, try to leap over the lake!” he urged, making Toni look at him as if he’d lost his mind “Are you serious? I’d end up jumping right into it!” she protested as Keldeo just grinned “Pleeeease try it? Trust me on this okay!” he said making the gothita sigh and pout again “Fine… but if I end up soaked I’m going to be soooo mad…” she fumed as she reluctantly jumped…
And suddenly the wind whipped past Toni as she was flying.
The little psychic went wide eyed as the pond zipped past underneath her as the jump carried her clear over it as if she’d been shot out of a cannon. “See! I told you!” Keldeo called, laughing eagerly as Toni was still too surprised to respond… till she saw they’d overshot the opposite shore of the pond by a good ways and were about to crash into the trees as she let out a frightened squeak. “Don’t panic! Fears your enemy! Just start running! You’ve trusted me so far right?” Keldeo cheered from his perch on her shoulder, a joyful and innocent grin on his face. Despite expect to go crashing through the branches Toni did what he said and began pumping her feet in a frantic waddle/run as the moment of the crash drew closer….
And never happened, Toni went wide eyed again as she felt her feet just lightly brushing and pushing off against something. It wasn’t till she looked down that she could honestly believe what was happening. She was running across the tops of the trees! “Wooooooooooooooo!” she squealed, her brain not managing to put together anything more complex to say from the shock of the situation. “I’m giving you all my power! All 100%!” Keldeo cheered, obviously enjoying the ride “So we’re strong together and we can do all sorts of things! Come on! Come on! Let’s see how fast you can go!” he urged happily.
Feeling a sudden rush of power unlike anything she’d ever felt Toni grinned and giggled as she dashed across the treetops leaping off of them and bouncing off a nearby statue to resume dashing across the tree tops as she jumped from tree to tree with speed and agility she was pretty sure should be impossible with her stubby legs and her waddle. She couldn’t help but giggle as she turned on a dime, picking up even more speed as she flew through the park spotting a playground out of the corner of her eye. Getting a crazy idea she launched herself towards it and vaulted over the slide (not even caring that the flip she threw in made her dress flair out and show off her diaper), grabbed and spun on the merry-go-round before leaping off, and finally grabbed hold of the swing and using it to launch her high into the air as she let out a high spirited.
“Wheeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeheeheeeeeee!!”
“Look!!”
“Huh?” still high in the air Toni turned her gaze towards where Keldeo was pointing with his horn. There was an odd, large moving red dot on the outskirts of the park. She couldn’t make out what it was but Keldeo seemed to be able to “It’s Groudon’s chosen! Come on come on! Lets go get em! Lets go go go!” he cheered eagerly and after the adrenalin rush of her new powers Toni was more than certain they could take them. Grinning she flipped in the air once before landing and dashing off across the tree tops immediately in the direction she’d seen the figure. Slowly two voices could be heard, a deep gravely one and a deep female one.
“How the heck am I supposed to use these powers again?”
“I TOLD you already how to use em!! And don’t show em off without needing em! It draws attention and makes you a target!”
“Oh EXCUSE me for not being able to make out those ugly sounding growls of yours!”
“Don’t make me regret selecting you to fight for me!”
“Too late I already regret agreeing!!”
Toni skidded to a halt on the outskirts of the park, surprising the arguing duo. It turned out to be a stout excadrill lady who looked about 19 or so. She had a chubby figure and large breasts accented by the tight fitting red and black outfit she was wearing covered with white spikes. A toy-like Groudon sat on her shoulder, and both of them had a surprised look on their faces as Toni landed in front of them. “A toddler!?” the lady asked, sounding dumbfounded as she looked at Toni while Groudon growled as he looked eyes on the little legendary on Toni’s shoulder “Keldeo!!”
“Get em Toni!!”
“Okay!”
Toni didn’t need any further prodding from her partner as she dashed forward “And I’m NOT A TODDLER!!” she shouted as she began jabbing her lance at the excadrill fast enough to make a beedrill jealous. The girl staggered back flailing her claws to try and defend herself even if the jabs that hit didn’t seem to do any damage. Finally she tumbled onto her butt and rolled out of the way to avoid Toni’s lunging jab. Climbing back to her feet the ground type staggered as Groudon roared “Use it now!! Stomp your foot and destroy em!!”
“That a crack about my weight!?”
“SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT FOR ONCE AND JUST DO IT!!!”
“FINE! EARTHQUAKE!!!” the excadrill shouted, starting to stomp her feet and cratering the ground underneath her while making everything else shake. “J-j-jump f-for i-i-it!!” Keldeo stuttered as Toni bounced up and down on her bottom, thick diaper cushioning her a little, before managing to kick off the ground and get an unsteady jump into the air. “Keep moving!” Keldeo coached as Toni’s shoes lightly touched the shaking ground and kicked off again before she could be knocked back on her rear.
“Do we go after them hair clipper?” the excadrill asked, stopping her stomping for a moment as Groudon snorted “I told you not to call me that MOLE! And heck no, we ain’t fighting them here. Not with all these trees to give em cover! Find someplace more open!” he snarled as the girl started running towards the city proper, snarking back at her partner “You look like a hair clipper, I’m calling you one! And running away from a toddler? THIS is what the big bad Groudon suggests?” she asked, smirking as the legendary on her shoulder spat a plume of flame in anger at that.
“IF I WAS MYSELF I’D STEP ON THEM! BUT I’M HAVING TO FIGHT WITH YOU SO SHUT IT!! AND THAT TODDLER JUST KNOCKED YOU ON YOUR ASS DIDN’T SHE!?”
“I’ll do it again too!”
Both the excadrill girl and Groudon looked up and went “Huh!?” together as Toni tore out of the woods, having cut a U turn the moment the quaking stopped and easily caught up with them. Before the larger girl could start stomping again Toni was on her with a barrage of jabs and slashes, sending the excadrill staggering and stumbling back as she waved her claws trying to fend Toni off. The gothita girl was on a pure power rush at this point. Still struggling to learn her basic moves back home, she’d never actually been in a match before that she was actually a contender in much less winning.
“Stop dodging! These won’t scratch you! Just attack em!!” Groudon roared as the excadrill growled back “Shut up hair clipper they still hurt!!” but started swinging her long sharp claws at Toni, forcing the gothita to jump back. Seeing an opening the ground type lifted her foot to use her move again “EARTHQUAAAAA!!!” she squawked as Toni lunged forward and jabbed at the girls other leg, forcing her to jump back to keep from falling over as Toni once again took control of the fight, this time aiming her attacks at the girls feet and legs to force her to awkwardly dance out of the way.
“Let's finish her off with a patron move!” Keldeo cheered making Toni trip a little in responce “P-patron move? What the heck is that!?” she asked, trying to keep her frenetic attacking pace up even as she talked. “It’s a move we both can use that I can power up! Like… wait… you can’t learn any sword moves can you? Um… how about… no you can’t learn that one either… Ooo! Ooo! How about… darn it that one won’t work either!” Keldeo mumbled to himself as his face was screwed up in thought and only the fight she was in kept Toni from groaning in frustration at this.
“Okay! I got it! Use Return!”
“Return? But I don’t know how to use that!”
“Just shout the name and attack them!”
“But that’s stupid! Why would that work!?”
“Just do it!!”
“Fine! RETURN!!!” Toni shouted as she swung her lance at her opponents who were still struggling to recover. Her eyes widened as she saw the energy crackling around the weapon, fueled by her emotional rush and high, and turn it into an instrument of destruction. She also saw it strike home HARD into her opponents and sent them hurtling through the air. Due to over swinging and knocking herself on her butt though Toni DIDN’T see the huge gash she torn almost clean through the two as they flew through the air… just enough life left in them for a few last words.
“Hair Clipper… Groudon… sorry…”
“… sorry I got you into this… Evana…”
SPLAAAASH!!!
The two crashed down hard into the pond sinking into the waters as Toni struggled to get to her feet. Taking a few toddling steps and then looking off into the distance her opponents had vanished into Toni stood there from a moment silently. “I WON! YES! YES! YEEEES!!” she cheered, jumping up and down in place for a moment, Keldeo cheering right along with her “Lets go find somebody else to fight! I bet we can win this!” he called eagerly as Toni nodded in agreement and took a running leap into the city.

“Did you see that! We beat them good! Let us go find another duo to fight!”
“Yeah! See Toni? I told you this’d be fun!”
“This is AMAZING!!”
After being used to her diaper induced waddle for so long being able to dash through the streets and leap from building to building like… well… like a member of the Swords of Justice was liberating to say the least. She couldn’t restrain a giggle as she stole a glance at Keldeo riding on her shoulder, the biggest grin was on the pony’s face as his mane and tail whipped in the wind as she flew through the air. “Think we will win?” she asked him, grinning just as much as he was. Keldeo giggled and nodded eagerly in response “Yeah! I’d like to see who could stop us!!”
A sudden explosion nearby made Toni skid to a stop as she could hear the sound of a high stakes battle going on. Grinning she dashed down the nearest alleyway trying to find the fight so she could get in on it. “Who do you think is fighting?” she asked Keldeo as she dashed through the disturbingly clean (confirming the whole city was just a recreation) alley. “I dunno…” Keldeo said, a confused look on his face “It feels like… um… I think one of them’s Victini.” He giggles grinning “He’s fun to be around… the other one… it’s…” the pony shivered a little and lowered his head “… it scares me so that must mean it’s him…” he said with a slight whimper, making Toni skid to a stop just before she emerged from the shadows of the alley into the street.
“Him? Who is him?”
Suddenly a small furry body flying past them hard enough to crater the streets snapped Toni’s attention forward. Looking she could see it was a badly bruised young growlithe girl, probably 10 to 12 years old (and still taller than her), wearing a Victini themed costume that seemed to be based on a raver outfit. Behind the blue bubble goggles she was wearing her eyes were filled with pain and fear. An equally fightened looking toy-like Victini clung to her shoulder. Toni wondered what could have beatn them so badly… but then she saw HER.
It was a tall, ethereally beautiful gardevoir girl, looking about 18 or so. She was unusually pale and fragile looking even for her species, almost to the point of being slightly sickly. Her ankle length green hair billowed behind her as she slowly levitated herself to the ground. The frailty she seemed to have was balanced out by the cold, emotionless, almost cruel, and certainly dangerous look in her eyes. She was wearing an intimidating light and dark purple costume complete with a pair of horn like cat ears held on her head by a hair band. As if just to confirm who she’d partnered with Toni recognized the tiny, cold eyed legendary sitting on the girl's shoulder and said its name in a hushed whisper.
“Mewtwo…”
The Growlithe girl let out a scared sound whimper as she struggled to drag herself backwards out of the crater, her whole battered body shaking with fear. Toni’s pupils shrunk as she felt the air pressure change due to an ungodly amount of psychic energy being built up all centered on the Gardevoir girl. She slowly lifted an arm up, her hand hanging limp at the wrist, and pointed it at the Victini representative. Before the girl could scream the gardevoir’s hand snapped up and a single word escape her lips “Psychic.”.
There was a hum in the air as the growlithe and Victini glowed for a moment… then exploded into red residue and gore leaving nothing else behind. Toni went wide eyed as her pupils shrunk more as the few liquefied remains splashed down on the streets and walls. Mewtwo shifted from his spot lounging on the gradevoir’s shoulder and dryly commented “A little too much force there Venus, it didn’t have to be that… messy.” But his words were lost to both his representative, who didn’t register them and didn’t seem fazed by what she’d done in the slightest, as well as Toni who doubled over and threw up at what she’d just seen.
Toni’s whole body shook and her vision swam as she slowly looked up… and realized the gardevoir’s expressionless red eyes were locked solidly on her. She let out terrified squeaks as she frantically tried to breath and her body’s flight or fight response kicked in as she hurled herself blindly back down the alley, tears streaming down her cheeks. From her shoulder Keldeo was clinging to her tight, crying as well, and motor mouthing a mile a minute in shock and panic "T-t-t-thatwasn'tsupposedtahappenWhy'dthathappenTheydidn'ttellmethistheydidn'ttellmethisTHEYDIDN'TTELLMETHIS!!!" he babbled, repeating it over and over.
Watching Toni hurl herself down the alleyway, Venus turned to follow her only for Mewtwo to speak up “Forget about her for now, we already killed one kid today and that’s already too much for my tastes. Besides, Keldeo is the least of our worries. Save your strength for more dangerous opponents.” He commented making Venus finally acknowledge him as she said matter-of-factly “She’ll die in the end child or not, why not do it now?” making Mewtwo snort and glare at her “Cause I said so… now go clean yourself up. You’ve got a little of your last opponent on you.

Toni ran blindly through the alleyways, her enhanced speed and the fact she was struggling not to throw up again making the world blur around her. Keldeo seemed to have lost it and was shaking as he kept mumbling to himself so he wasn’t providing her with any direction help either. Finally she tripped and tumbled to a hard stop onto the street… where another fight was going on. Looking up through her tear stained eyes Toni could see a gurdurr girl wearing a barbarian like Regirock costume standing over her, a larger than normal metal I beam clutched in her hands and a little regirock on her head.
“What tha hell?” the girl grunted looking at the apparent toddler at her feet before snorting and, instead of attacking like Toni expected, turned away from her and grunted “Whatever! This is for Registeel!! Stone Edge!!!” suddenly several rings of energy appeared circling around the gurdurr before they turned into rings of jagged grey stones… but unlike normal Stone Edge attacks instead of all firing at once and vanishing the stones started to shoot out machine gun style at whatever the girl was aiming at showing no signs of running out anytime soon.
Toni blinked weakly trying to see what the girl was shooting at but the figure was moving too quickly as the gurdurr girl growled and frantically chased after it with her attack shooting a waving line in the buildings around her. A voice echoed in the air that Toni could swear she recognize “SHADOW CLAW!!” as they mysterious figure suddenly dashed forward, tearing through the ring of stones AND the gurdurr girl with darkness covered claws as the fighting types screams echoed in Toni’s ears…
But worse was that she could clearly see the mysterious figure now and easily recognized her from school and her visits to Petie’s house. Rose looked down at her with tear stained eyes as Toni threw up once more and mercifully passed out, her mind finally too overwhelmed to take it all.

“WHY are you wasting time like this!?”
“I couldn’t leave her there! Someone might kill her!”
“YOU should be the one killing her!”
“NO!”
“Why not? You didn’t show the same mercy to the regirock girl now did you~?”
“B-but… I know her…”
“You also know your baby brother~ Shall I kill him to get you to listen you me~?”
“You already told me you CAN’T remember? You’re a blabbermouth for somebody who thinks so highly of himself.”
“DAMN THAT NO LYING RULE!!! Well I can still zap him good if you test me so FORGET the brat and go hunt down Dialga and Palkia! Okay~?”
It was this utterly bizarre conversation Toni slowly regained consciousness to. The soft smell of baby powder and the sound of Rose’s voice made her think she’d dozed off in Petie’s room back at his house and what she’d seen had just been a horrible, horrible nightmare… till she heard the soft whimpering coming from the weight on her shoulder and Keldeo whispered “T-Toni, who are these people? The kangaskhan knows your name…” in her ears bringing the fact she was in a fight to the death and had already killed somebody crashing down around Toni’s ears.
“AAAAAAAHHHHHH!”
A scream of blind panic escaped her as she scrambled to her feet, or at least tried to as she stumbled and crawled towards the nearest door not even paying attention to where she was. “H-hey!!” Keldeo squeaked, getting knocked off her shoulder in her blind rush “W-wait for me!” he called, Toni not even hearing him as she hit the hall and ducked into the nearest hiding place she could find. Which turned out to be an apparently empty cupboard as Toni ducked into it and pulled the door shut letting the darkness calm her frayed nerves even as she could hear Keldeo pawing at the door with his hooves.
“Oh GREAT! First the brat pukes all over us now THIS garbage…”
“Shut UP Giratina.”
Toni recognized Rose’s voice along with the voice she’d been arguing with before as she heard their footsteps coming closer. She was barely calm enough to realize Giratina was the legendary Rose must be working with. “D-d-don’t come any closer!” she heard Keldeo stutter, the soft pitter-patter of his hooves meaning he must have turned to face Rose “I-if you try to hurt Toni I’ll… I’ll…!” he said, training off as Giratina broke out laughing. The sound made Toni wince but not as much as when she heard him start monologuing.
“Or you’ll do WHAT little one~? Spray some water on us~? Get your representative to puke up so more~? Ooooh, oooh! Or better yet you can ask her to wet herself and see if THAT intimidates us~”
“Y-you shut up!”
“You sure know how to pick a champion, of course since you are the BABY of the legendaries I suppose she does suit you~”
“S-shut up!”
“And what if I don’t~?”
“Giratina, SHUT UP.”
It was Rose talking again as Toni could hear the wooden floor creak under the khan’s weight as she must have crouched down “Toni? Can you hear me?” the Khan asked as Toni just whimpered in response. Suddenly Giratina’s voice cut in again “Oh just leave the brat! I want you to get back to hunting down Palkia and Dialga! Or do I have to zappity-zap Petie again~?” he asked as the teddiursa’s name set off alarm bells in Toni’s head. She’d thought she’d just been hearing things when they’d mentioned it earlier but what did this thing just say about him…?
Kicking open the cupboard door, and nearly sending Keldeo flying, Toni looked around “Who just threatened Petie?” she demanded, her eyes wide with a mixture of nerves, terror, and fury. She saw a teary eyed Rose biting her lip followed by a tiny Giratina floating a few feet off the ground and eyeing her with a smug grin on its face “That’d be me little one~ What of it?” it said with a sneer… before shooting up into the air to avoid Toni as she made lunge for it with her sword ending up landing in Rose’s arms. Giratina floated high over them and laughed before resuming gloating.

Just the way the small creature CROWED about this made Toni sick to her stomach and furious as Keldeo kept trying to leap high enough to get at Giratina shouting about how twisted, low-down, and dishonorable the stunt was. Toni clenched her teeth as she felt fresh tears dripping down her cheeks “Rose?” she asked looking up to the kangaskhan “How do we save Petie?” The kangaskhan shut her eyes and seemed to be holding back tears at that question before she finally hugged Toni.
“I have to go out hunting for those two legendaries again or this little… monster here will hurt Petie. Watch him and make sure nobody comes in here and finds him while I’m gone okay? He’s in the room at the end of the hall.”
With that she set Toni down and headed down the hall, Giratina floating after her and telling her to only fight the other legendaries if she’s attacked and to otherwise avoid confronting them till she finds Dialga and Palkia, leaving Toni alone with Keldeo. The little pony legendary trotted nervously to Toni’s side before asking “Toni? Who’s this Petie?”. She didn’t say anything as she turned and waddled to the room Rose had pointed out slowly pushing open the door and finally taking a look at it. The cribs, wall paper, and smell all told her it was a nursery… but what held her attention was the orb floating two feet off the floor.
Slowly going over to it she pressed her hands against the glass like structure and turning it until she could see the pale, dead or asleep teddiursa laying in the cradle trapped inside it. Keldeo pawed at her leg to try and get her attention “Toni?” he called again but all she responded with was a broken sounding “Him…” before leaning against the orb and breaking down crying.
