Fixing Your Wacom's Wobble...
Having been through an hour of dicking around with my Wacom due to stupid wobbly lines, I thought I'd share how I finally managed it!
Step 1: unless you're operating a touch screen PC, go to your control panel / services, find Tablet PC Input Service, stop it, and disable it so that it never starts again. This little monstrosity is a sort of basic driver for pen tablets, and it's is horribly inaccurate and will generally get in the way of the proper drivers. I suspect this will also disable flicks, gestures, and handwriting recognition, but I don't know anyone who bought a graphics tablet to write on their PC.
Step 2: choose your driver version wisely. Below is a comparison of 4 different Wacom tablet drivers for the Intuos4 line. Mine is a large (A4) but I imagine it applies from S-XL.
6.1.7 were from 2011. They are smooth, and responsive, and work perfectly with Win 7 x64.
6.2.0 is equally smooth in pen mode, but mouse mode didn't work at all, so if that's your preferred option you're out of luck.
6.3.1 and 6.3.3 are terrible. They introduce random jitter that severely cripple your drawing. If you ever thought this sort of stuff was you or your hardware, think again!
6.3.4 not even listed because those reduce the pen detection height to about a millimetre. You can't back the pen off enough to stop drawing and still be able to move it.
Hope this helps someone :)
