This is a vista in the warped space of the city of the ancients, R'lyeh. Actually, it's a meadow in it. In the back you can see part of the monolithic city itself, and the warped stairways leading through it.
I used this for my avatar. Originally, it was for a generic event somewhere whose only limitation was the theme of "spring" so as a joke, I chose the weirdest spring meadow I could think of. Inspired by fractals, MC Escher and Lovecraft I set out to do this.
However, after the penciling, I didn't get much else done. I really liked it, but since I've started on the coloring (with colored pencils) I lost the actual picture somewhere so it will probably stay as a Work-In-Progress forever :<
I might just take the digital copy of the pencil sketch and start coloring it in photoshop.
