Frontispiece for Har*Har Comics #2, 1992.
The salesman is based on a real genuine used car salesman. The "cat" he was talking about was "Garfield" and I wrote down his spiel as literally as I could recall when I got home. Be careful what you say in front of a cartoonist...

LOL! I've run into people just like him. Always have a 'great' plan to make a ton of money where they don't have to do any of the work.
"I'll give you the ideas to draw and you draw them and we split the profits", which probably wouldn't be so bad if the ideas were really good.
OR
"You make these and I will sell them on my automated website and we split the profits 50/50" Oh wait, that's Rabbit Va... never mind. <:)

I'm reminded of the mother of a friend, from my school days.
She had these two cats, and every time I was over there she'd push me and push me, to try and get me to draw a comic about them, because comics about cats are worth big money, and her cats were the funniest cats in the entire world, so naturally they were a fountainhead of great material that would make a bundle, and once I'd become really really famous, we'd split the money half and half.
Needless to say, I stopped going over there.
